How to get Nether Quartz In a Pre-1.5 Map without resetting the Nether

I don't know about you guys, but I like my nether world and when the 1.5 update came out with Nether Quartz I was pretty excited. That excitement turned to disappointment when I learned that Nether Quartz only spawned in new chunks. I had already done quite a bit of exploring in the Nether, so the chunks were already loaded and no matter how far I went I couldn't find Nether Quartz! I had also heard that if you deleted your entire nether quartz would spawn, but I have some pretty cool things like a nether base and a blaze grinder so this wasn't a good option. So I came up with a solution that would spawn nether quartz without wiping my nether world.

Here's How to do it:

1. Go into your world and go to the nether, record the coordinates of all the important things, like your portal, a nether fortress, or a cool pigman farm, (make sure if something is big you takecoordinatesfrom all of its corners).

2. Dinnerbone made this cool "Coordinate Tool" thing, we'll be using this to find out what regions you want to save. Go tohttp://dinnerbone.com/minecraft/tools/coordinates/and type in yourcoordinates. Record the file name under "Region Information"
Region-info__thumbjpgt
Now record the name of that file (something like r.0.0.mcr or r.1.-6.mcr), do this for everycoordinate you took down (youdon'thave to write down repeats)

3. Now navigate to the regions folder in .minecraft
If you already know how to do this you can skip this step, otherwise
Click on the start menu and type "run"
Now in the run box type "appdata"
A window should appear open the "Roaming" folder
The .minecraft folder should be near the top.

4. Lets make a backup of the world in case something goes wrong, open "saves" and then copy the folder of your world somewhere else.

5. Now you can open the folder with the Nether files "DIM-1"
Inside there should be a "regions" folder, open that.

6. Now making sure you have your minecraft closed delete all the region files that ARE NOT on that list you made.

7. Now launch minecraft and go to that world, the regions you didn't save will now have Nether Quartz!

Thanks for reading, I know it's been a while since 1.5 but this might help some of you :)
