1.go to your minecraft.jar
(Dont know how to get there? Open minecraft click options below Force update is game location on disk ex:C:UsersTechAppDataRoaming.minecraft or search %appdata% and click roaming then open your .minecraft folder from there click on bin then you'l see minecraft.jar)
2.open your minecraft.jar with winrar or 7zip(you can get winrar from here http://www.win-rar.com/download.html?&L=0 and 7zip from here http://www.7-zip.org/
take these file
title(panorama pics, mclogo, black.png, mojang, and splashes.)
terrain(Sun and Moon.The image is horizontally flipped in the game. any words drawn will be backwards)
mob(All mobs in game.)
misc(Biome grass/foliage color, overlay for pumpkin helmets, the clock dial, footprint, and the Map Background.)
item(In-game models for items such as signs,carts, boats,arrows, and Chests)
gui(Item hotbar, inventory screens, item thumbnails, Minecraft logo and menu background.)
art(All paintings in game.)
font(In-game font.)
environment(Snow, rain and clouds.)
armor(All armor in game.This also contains the overlay for an electrified creeper.)
achievement(The Achievements screen GUI.)
terrain.png(All blocks.Since Beta 1.8, the chest has its own texture located in item/chest.png,
(and item/largechest.png) similar to that of mobs, however the textures in the terrain file are still used for the particle effects when breaking a chest.
The water and lava textures can only be changed with the HD Texture pack patch.)
particles.png(The redstone particles' color cannot be changed.)
pack.png(Size should be 128x128 pixels.)
optional:Pack.txt(Description of texture in pack selection list.The text shouldn't be too long or it will not appear.)
3.place these in a zip file and name it what you want(if you have winrar just change it from .rar to .zip it will and click ok on the warning)
and now you can start making your own texture packs(i recomend paint.net and you can get that from here http://www.getpaint.net/) enjoy!
