Installation

Open your minecraft folder (%appdata%.minecraft) and then open the bin folder. Using an archiving program such as WinRAR or 7Zip open the file named minecraft.jar. Delete the folder named META-INF if there is one and copy all the class files from the optifine zip folder into your minecraft.jar along with all the class files from the GLSL Shaders zip folder.

Next open the Ultra v08 zip folder and open the folder named "Ultra v08" copy all the class files from this folder into a new zip folder named SEUS.zip, and then set it aside.

Start minecraft, then go to options, and then shaders. Click open shaders folder, and then add the SEUS.zip to that folder. close the shaders folder, select SEUS.zip and then click done.

If you have followed all of these steps correctly you should now have GLSL Shaders and SEUS installed properly, however most texture packs need patching for use with SEUS to add in the water shaders, and to fix light levels. Read the instructions below on how to fix this

Texture Pack Patching

Patched Texture Pack

Open SEUSTexturePatch.zip and copy the zip folder SEUS Patched 1.4.6 to your minecraft texture packs directory. This is the default texture pack, and is all ready to use with GLSL Shaders and SEUS.

Patching Another Texture Pack

Open your minecraft folder again, and open the texture packs folder. select your texture pack, and then open the folder within it called environment. Open SEUSTexturePatch.zip, and copy all the png files within the environment folder inside it to the environment folder of your texture pack.

Next go back into the main directory of your texture pack, and delete any custom water png files. Also look for them in the environment folder of your texture pack, and the misc folder. Once you have deleted any custom water files (if you do not have any that is fine) open your terrain.png with a photo editing program which allows transparency such as Paint.NET, and replace the 5 water blocks in the bottom right hand corner with a solid filled block of the colour in waterpatch.png, which is in the SEUSTexturePatch zip folder. You must use the exact colour used in the waterpatch.png. (I recommend using a colour select tool)

Congratulations.

If you have followed these instructions correctly, you should have a fully working and amazing looking minecraft with GLSL Shaders, Optifine and SEUS. Along with a custom patched texture pack

This mod can be very graphically intensive, and many computers will just not be able to run it because of this

NOTE: With some texture packs connected textures will cause the GLSL ability to make leaves and plants move, to no longer work. To fix this, and make them move again go to the menu, then go to OPTIONS, VIDEO SETTINGS, QUALITY, then click CONNECTED TEXTURES, and keep clicking it until it says CONNECTED TEXTURES: OFF

This is a very outdated tutorial and probably no longer works.

Hi, just finished to use your tutorial and I have to say that it is really clear and easy to follow. However, I can't find how to patch a texturepack...I tried, but everything is blue. So I was wondering if you could help me out with this. Other than that, I diamonded, becauise the "main" tutorial is well written and like i said, easy to follow.!

If you are using the default texture pack you no longer need to patch it, as a texturemap is now included in it. This tutorial is out of date, and I will be updating it shortly, possibly with a video, and with a much better method of installation.

Hope that helps, and thanks for the Diamond :D

Have you selected the seus shader in the shaders options menu? And are you using a modified texture pack?

Is there a way to just remove the animated trees and plants? Even turning off connected textures they're still moving.

sorry, don't know any fix for that, there might be a version of GLSL without the moving plants.
