Step 1: Dig a hole at the start of your racetack depending on how wide it is. Mine is 3(width)x3(length). If you have a track that is 10 wide, it would be 10(width)x3(length).
Next, Fill the lower row with *STICKY* pistons and the upper row with a block that you can't jump over (cobble wall, fence).
After that, add 2 more blocks backwards. (As demonstrated through the image, it should be 2 deep and as wide as your racetrack is like before.)
Now, 2 blocks behind the sticky piston, fill the lower row with and block of your choice (I have chosen wool) and add a redstone torch facing the piston on the block. The pistons should have moved the fence/cobble wall up so it is blocking people from starting.
Once you have done that step, put a line of redstone across the wool (or the block that you chose) and at any end of the wool, put 1 redstone going backwards towards the grass. Then, add a "step" upwards to put your redstone on. (Sorry if this was horribly explained, the image will help to descibe it better :3)
Now, place a lever on the top wool block and flip it! The pistons should rise up and down with each flick of the lever.
Finally, pretty it up with some slabs and you have finished! Thanks for reading and as always, a sub and a diamond are greatly appreciated if you liked this tutorial!
