To everyone that does not know how to make a resource pack
1. Open ".minecraft"folder
2. Open the "resourcepacks" folder
3. Create a folder titled whatever you want. This will be the name of the texture pack
4. Open it
5. Create an image called "pack.png". That will be the picture that appears next to your texture pack in Minecraft
6. Create a file called "pack.mcmeta" and open it
7. Now Copy and Paste this into it:
{
"pack": {
"pack_format": 1,
"description": "By Danthec00lman (Still in Progress)"
}
}
8. DO NOT edit anything but the words that I underlined. That will be the Texture description below the name
9. Create a folder called "assets" and open it
10. Create a folder called "minecraft" and open it
11. Now, go all the way back to the ".minecraft" folder
12. Open "versions" folder
13. Open the folder that has the latest version (1.7.2 currently)
14. Copy what you want (I would only do the "texts" and "textures" files)
15. Go back to the folder "minecraft" in your texture pack folder (#10)
16. Paste everything in there
!!!Note!!! - The "end.txt" and the "credits.txt" need a certain text editor. I am not EXACTLY sure which one. But if you edit them with normal text editors they will not work

1 - Get a Image editing program
An Image editing program is essential if you wish to edit the textures. There are some documents you can edit that are in the files. But textures are mainly what must be edited. If you don't have one and want a FREE one, get Gimp, Its the one you want.

also if you want to post code for .mcmetadata .ini .cfg and .txt files dont use formated text this can break the text on multiple levels
overall a pretty bad tutorial from someone who does not seem to know mutch about what he is doing but instead writes down a youtubevideo
:/
Wait... Some of them do
Thank you, if i ever make a resourcepack it will be all thanks to your blog post
just one thing, the pack.mcmeta is a text file or what? how should i make it?
EDIT: how do i rename items? i cant find a file with their names, if theres one. should i keep looking for it or do i rename the texture names to also rename the items?
And the pack.png needs a specific size?
