Hello!,

are downloading Minecraft Packs but YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE ONE?

Then, your in the Right Place!

Chapter 1: getting the pack folder

Step 1: go to the minecraft folder. [ .minecraft folder ]

Step 2: go to the versions folder.

Step 3: Open the folder of your pack's minecraft version.

Step 4: now right-click the JAR file ( MAKE SURE YOU HAVE WINRAR IN YOUR WINDOWS!! ) then click Extract to "Optifine 1.8.9" you can extract the either Optifine version or the default, if you choose the Optifine version then the pack downloaders will need to use optifine and the version.

after extracting,

You are ready for making the pack.

Chapter 2: Making the Pack

Step 1: Rename the "Optifine 1.8.9" to your pack name! ( to make colorful pack name you need to use the § symbol and a color code, I'm not gonna tell the color codes but you can search on google: "Minecraft Color Codes" and you will get the codes.

Step 2: Double-Click the folder of your pack and you can delete ALL files inside EXCEPT the "assets" folder.

once the folder has only 1 folder and it's the assets folder. you can put the image and the description for your pack to see it in-game!

Step 3: get a image for ur pack and rename it to "pack.png" the image resolution is up to 512x512 pixels.

and for the description. you need to get a file and rename it to "pack.mcmeta" when I make my packs I get a random file, e.x: I always get a .txt file and I change the name and the format to pack.mcmeta.

make sure to turn on the show extensions thing on your windows to see the extension format .txt

Step 4: Open the pack.mcmeta file using a Text Editor ( Best is Notepad+.exe but you can use the Windows Text Editor. )

Now inside the Pack.mcmeta file in the text editor, Copy + Paste the following lines into the file:

}
}
Now to make the Description Colorful, Same as the the other symbol but u CAN'T USE that symbol.

If u used the symbol as I mentioned the pack will not appear in the resource pack folder.

you will know when you search "Minecraft Color Codes" and Go to the first website.

use the "\u007" one to make colorful description. for i.e: when I make packs this is how my desc looks like.

}
}
now let's head to next step.

Step 4: you are done! you made the resource pack BUT still the textures are the vanilla textures. To change them you need to use GIMP Image editor OR Paint.net. I highly recommend you with Paint.net.

the default resolution for all textures is 16x16.

you can retexture them and when your done. take the pack folder to the .minecraft > resourcepacks folder.

and now Open Minecraft > Options > Resource Packs, Then you should be able to see your pack!

I hope I helped you making a resource pack.

Have a good day!

I think you should add, how to make textures and good applications to make them on. Personally I use paint.net but other people would rather use use gimp or something just some random ideas here.

Hope you fix this,

-Windsly.
