Step 1-Mob proof your base
now, while we are attempting to protect your base, should you actually Injure any with these defenses they will alert their elders and you will be overrun, and eventual destroyed.. so you best be cautious with how they are constructed. You could take the traditional approach and blow them up, that way they won't be able to run back to their leaders as they will be dead. You can also dig many trenches surrounding your home with arrow traps and FIIIIIIEEEEAHHHHHH!
Step 2- Destroy their governments
We all know how advanced mob societies are, motorized cars and a working economy, To them we are inferior, SO we must prove them wrong! Many ways to go about this is to obtain a plane, and crash it into their government buildings. we can also just blow up their entire civilization... but do this with caution as if they discover obsidian, they will SURELY come after you. It is also crucial to not run right into their town square and yell "TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER SO I MAY SHOOT HIM" As that will get you killed.
Step 3- Infiltration
Now, other that rigging your house with fire and blowing up a city do not really qualify as "hunting", What you need to do is catch them when they are talking on their radios... Now it may look like sheep eat the grass, but what they are really doing is reading a message, and then eating the evidence. In order to learn more about their society you must locate a patch of grass with a sheep starting to eat, and then quickly take out our fist and punch them. they will run for their lives because they think they have been compromised!
In their confusion you must read the grass, destroy the area, and then write it down as to not forget.
Step 4-The final battle, what to use?
Again, rigging your house with fire and blowing up a city with TNT are not statistically weapons, What you really need is a piece of leather to bind the mobs, or a book to throw at them.. i mean seriously, do you ever not feel it when someone throws a book at you?
Also snowballs are a wonderful resource, as mob's thick coats do not protect them from freezing cold temperatures so they may fall over flat on their face and die.
Another option is a wooden hoe, these make fine scythes and are very useful in scaring away mobs if you yell a hearty RRAAAWWHHHH!
