Hello guys, yeah you read the title I have got a fix for you to get a 1.8 server started today. Before I begin I would like to tell you that this is just what I have have found by looking frantically for a way to run a Bukkit 1.8 server. So to get started on a little background; Yes I am a developer and make Bukkit plugins and is part of the reason why I need a way to run a Bukkit 1.8 Server. I searched the internet frantically trying to find out how to do this and stumbled across a nifty little video. This video advertised a message saying Bukkit 1.8 download, I was very exicted so I downloaded it and it was a server file that ran Bukkit. At first I was a little confused but then realized that it was a Bukkit server that excepted people who are using 1.8 and 1.7!! Even more amazing is that you can still put your 1.7 plugins and they will work even if someone on the server is using a 1.8 version. To get this straight it is not Bukkit 1.8 it is Bukkit 1.7 that allows both versions 1.7 and 1.8, so you still use plugins from 1.7 because there is no 1.8 Bukkit, if you would like to know how this witchcraft works go down to the technical talk. Set up your own Bukkit 1.8 Server:
++Before you start flagging this just know this is not advertising because this is not my download link or video and all I want to do is help you guys set up a server that is cross versions and there is no where else to post this but here in the blog section++

Step 1. Download the server folder -It already has everything in there you need-

Step 2. Unzip the folder -MAKE SURE IT IS UNZIPED- and then press run and your server will be up and runnig

Step 3. Add plugins and port forward to let others have maximum fun obn your server
Technical Talk:
How this whole set up works is actually fairly simmple so don't get your hopes up. First off the way that the server tricks the 1.8 client is by using a version of spigot to make all 1.7 and all 1.8 clients accepted, Spigot is very good at this and bukkit does not handle this themselves so the person that made the server files used a little support from spigot to be able to accept both clients. Inside the server is powered by a 1.7.10 version of Bukkit, even though it is a 1.7.10 version 1.8 clients can use it fine and will have the same expeirence that 1.7 players are having. This also means you can add the previous things made in 1.7 like plugins and still be able to appeal to the people wanting to use 1.8 clients
