Interview With Builders! - Great Advice For People Starting Out!
Questions all By MerryRainbow

New To Planet Minecraft? Well no need to fear! This Blog has really helpful advice from people who have been getting A LOT of attention from building! So if you're working on new map don't forget to follow what these builders say! (trust Me I've researched and they have really good advice and experience!)

Here Are The Questions I Have Asked Them!

1.)Do you have any advice for people who are starting out?
Especially if you can't afford to have someone build by your side.
2.)What Kind of maps really attract a lot of attention?

Sephorum-
When starting out, keep things small and elegant, dont try something too big, otherwise youll get lost in detailing, and it wont look too good as an end product. Structure is better to start out with, then try to get some curves incorporated into your builds, which can then lead into organics. Try to find yourself some good concept artwork, or even draw out some yourself, as this helps with build planning.
Always, always, always plan out your build, try to use placeholder blocks where you can, just so you can see which shapes you are working with before you add textures.
Other than that, try to add your own twist on things, make it your own style, but always be open to bringing in style from others. If you like something that someone has done, you can add that into your builds and see how you can make it work.

Hope this helps, and have fun building!

Peace, Seph

C0SMIC COW :

I would say the most important advice to builders is to never not do something because it's "unrealistic" if it looks cool go for it because the best builds are the most unexpected ones!

Never, ever build a flat wall. And remember that just because there are alot of blocks you dont need to use them all.

Always see the big picture, don't give up if one part of your build looks bad. Put it in perspectie to what the final goal is, and go from there.

But the most important rule to building... IS NEVER

EVER

BUILD JUST WITH QUARTZ I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND SLAP YOU

Glowfisch:

So do i have advice... hmmm i guess if you cant afford to hire builders i recomend learning how to build nice things yourself and how you learn the skills needed simple just look at all the P.M.C (Planet Minecraft) stuff especially the projects with a whole lot of downloads and diamonds.

Download those and try to replicate what they done ( don't copy paste there sh*t) but try to deconstruct there build and learn what makes them tick. if you do this you can they apply those skills to your own projects and there ya go you are now the next big thing :3

keep in mind this is a huge time commitment and a hard road to venture upon so if you don't like spending the time.. just hire a build with some funds collected from the people you love or are willing to invest in to your goals :3

i'm not sure what the biggest atraction things are ... i generaly try to be original and creative.. doing stuff i havent seen other people do is my way of atracting atention... others of corse do other things.. but just keep an eye out for the pop list on P.M.C the projects that hit the top spots are generaly things the comunity love to see more of..and should be safe to persue ( avoid oversaturation) :P
