Tired of people always saying download nolagg or ptweaks just to get your bukkit server to run faster or better. Well I have a few more options. In my bukkit I use nearly 4 out of 6 GB of ram. My operating system takes up about 1 GB of ram making me only have about 1 GB of ram. With my antique Pentium(R) processor i still can manage to get 30 fps at minimum with my bukkit server running, browser up,and chatroom running at nice paces.

I would suggest for those who are looking to minimize CPU usage and have there server running somewhat like a hyper-bukkit get craftbukkit++ or craftbukkit--. As of right now craftbukkit++ has been discontinued and passed on to another user named Spigot who continued to improve it came with the initial release for craftbukkit--. Craftbukkit-- reduces cpu usage, examines and boost the processes that really matter, and loosens the burden of having to lose good plugins due to the fact craftbukkit is not compatible. You won't have plugin problems with craftbukkit--, trust me, I have been using it for about 6 months without any plugin problems, after downloading and nearly trying 100s of plugins. Not to say it will cause your plugins to be less likely to cause issues for each other. Look up Spigot Craftbukkit and download it replace it with your current craftbukkit. If you don't like it you can always go back and just take your original craftbukkit and replace spigot.

Next to keep in mind is adding virtual memory to your computer, yes, yes it may not be just as fast as ram but it is fast enough to get your PC running at pretty standard pace. Look up videos on how figure out how to configure you pagefile sizes or allocate more virtual memory to your machine to reduce your lag.

Set your task priorities to high through the task manager. If you want you could do the same for your bukkit, but I do not recommend this do to the fact that you can allocate more ram to your bukkit, try it.

I would also recommend downloading a bukkit gui. I use the bukkit gui project which is updated pretty often to improve server and bukkit gui stability.
