I think mcafee is correct,
I bet it does have a virus.
I bet it wan't real minecraft, but those FREE FREE FREE! FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE minecraft versions stick on youtube.
Those things are jam packed with viruses.
But no, real, paid minecraft has no viruses

Then maybe mcaffee is wrong, got no idea

stop using mcafee.

use eset nod32.

there are 2 types of antivirus programs:

1. real antivirus - they protect you from viruses

2. "antivirus" for spreading purposes - they find a bunch of fake "viruses" on your pc, and then you think that you just got an awesome antivirus program, and tell your friends about it, and they buy it. but in real, it just deletes random files saying that they were viruses. sometimes that comes to windows not booting, because system files were deleted.

1. McAfee sucks, it is McAfee's fault. It is called a false positive

2. Download the .jar version (linux) and run it on windows like the regular exe

yes, it's exactly the same. it's only the launcher. all your minecraft files are located in %appdata% folder and they remain unchanged with ANY launcher you want.
