Okay, my big idea is minecraft, in space. It would be kinda like a new dimension, like the nether or the aether. It would have asteroids and comets to land on. you could mine materials in those. Then they could expand of that and make planets and moon. The terrain would be vast and open, and there would be more room for objects because it would have a very high height limit. You could land on a volcanic planet (that idea could lead to volcanic biomes on regular minecraft) or a jungle planet. New terrain could be made, and mobs and items would be in any variety. The possibilities are endless.
First off you would make a space suit, with wool and redstone, and glass for the visor. It would have a durability so that you cant stay in space without a cost off materials over time. You would then have to craft a rocket ship, I guess since minecraft is a little pre-historic it could be portals instead. I think a rocket ship would be better though. A crafting recipe could be rocket parts, using iron, redstone, obsidian, and maybe an engine running on gunpowder? The character could take off and fly through space, I though the rocket could also run on an extraterrestrial material found on asteroids, so you would have to land om them. The textures I was thinking of could be somewhat the same for normal planets, while others could be extreme. But i would want it to feel like minecraft still, so it would stay the same resolution. The space around you act like the sky, but it wouldn't move, though it would be cool to have constellations and shootings stars that move in the background. Maybe there would be an intelligent mob who will attack you in space or if you land on the planet. maybe your not the first and you see other rockets that crash landed, with journals to guide you. Maybe, and just maybe, the origin of herobrine would be explained in a cool story. The amount of stories in unthinkable!
This addition to minecraft could can change it dramatically for ever. Some people might not want it, so i could be a paid for addition to minecraft. Kinda like dlc on ps3 or xbox. I think it be best for the game to add this first, and have other parts of it like planets and moons and aliens added in future updates, to keep the community occupied for a while and not overwhelm them as well. Minecraft might then appeal to gamers would love scifi games, and maybe have had no interest in minecraft in the past because of this. It would help make minecraft have more sales, which could lead to mojang hiring more employees to help. Some could work on mc space specifically, answering community questions about it and fixing bugs. That would still leave alot of mojang to work on regular minecraft. This could really change minecraft for the better! My only concerns are is that some people would still be upset about this because they might like minecraft to stay "prehistoric" as some would say. Thats why some people don't like techik, but seeing as how many people do like techik. this would be more for the better. It might be to big for mc servers to handle, seeing as after 1.3 it was alot, and people are getting annoyed about how laggy there gameplay is on multiplayer. I though mc servers would have an option for a smaller would but with the addition of mc space. Maybe that would apply for regular single maps as well. It can be tweaked after its released to see what happens.
