Today, I propose a idea that might change the way you mine in Minecraft. It will also add a risk to going mining. Lets say you go into a cave. It's dark and scary, but you decide it would be much easier just to do a 2X2 line through the cave wall instead. You are digging when all of a sudden you hear a rumbling. The screen begins to shake and you are terrified. You look behind you and the line you built was gone. My idea is that when you go mining in a cave, that the cave would have a chance of collapsing.
At first, it sounds like something to make you throw away your computer, but when you think about all the times mine shafts collapse and people are stuck inside in real life. You don't think of it as unrealistic or just annoying. If this is put in the game, then it would have a 10-20% chance of happening and it would only work if you were inside a cave or any underground structure. When it collapse it would be deep and when you go to the surface, you would notice that the ground level has lowered. The dirt and cobblestone would almost act like sand and have gravity all of a sudden. There would also be a rumbling and a shaking on the screen, this would act as a warning to get out before you are stuck in.
I believe this will help Minecraft because it adds more choices into the game. You could go mining and get diamonds, but you would also be taking a chance, for you may get stuck and be down there for more than expected. As I play Minecraft today, i notice that I don't make as heavy choices as this one. I believe if we add more daring choices into the game like this, then we will be making Minecraft more exciting.
