I have decided to go back and take another look at the mutant skeleton mod. Link to the mod is in the description below.


Do you remember how in the last video the skeleton was very easy to get away from, and all he could do was punch. Well, I am happy to see that he has evolved, and is now a total beast!


The creator of the mod has finally completed the mutant skeleton and has added soooo many features.


I can honestly say that he is by the best looking minecraft mob I have ever seen. The design is just so spectacular.


That crossbow looks big enough to launch simon. You would not want to get hit by an arrow that big! We are going to fight him, or well, attempt to fight him in just a minute but first I would like to go over his attacks really quickly.


Let’s start with his long range. He shoots an arrow from his bow now and it does a lot of damage. In full diamond armour it takes out about 1 heart per hit. It will also inflict either poison, slowness, or hunger. All of which can be equally as bad.


He still does his regular punching attack which does around half to 1 heart of damage when I’m in my diamond armor. A very powerful close ranged attack with a strong knock back. He then uses this to his advantage by firing an arrow with intense accuracy.


When he is bored of shooting one arrow at you, he uses 6 instead. His third attack is when he jumps in the air and launches six arrows which inflicts about 1 heart of damage in full diamond armor.


His last attack is probably one of the coolest of them all. When you are close to him, he opens up his ribcage and crushes you with it. The animation for it is quiet well done.


His health is a monsterous 150 so make sure you are always prepared to face him because remember, all mutant creatures do randomly spawn in the minecraft world. If you are not ready for them, you will die very very fast.


Ok, let’s challenge him and see if we can kill him.


As you can see, his death animation looks really awesome. He just explodes into bits and you can collect all his bones by right clicking on it. Trust me, you will want to collect all the bones.


With the remains, you can create a really cool armor set. What’s even more amazing is that it will give you special effects when you wear them. This makes killing these beasts totally worth it.


When wearing the helmet or skull, if you use a bow and arrow, jumping and shooting will double the damage. However, if you don’t jump and fire, the arrow will only do half it’s original damage so there is a slight drawback.


It’s more fun to jump and shoot anyway.


Using the skeleton ribs and arms you can craft the chest plate.


Here is how to craft the arm.


This is what you need for the ribs. Equipping this will allow your bow to recharge four times faster.


Using the pelvis and two limbs you can make the leggings. These give you a +2 speed boost I believe.


Two limbs will make up the boots which will allow you to jump higher.


Alright, let’s see how this looks. Just amazing!


The arrows recharge super fast and we move faster. This is just crazy good.


I can’t wait to see what thehipomaster will come up with next for his mutant creatures mod. I’m hoping for a mutant villager guardian or something. The villagers seem to get pushed around quiet a bit and it’d be nice to see them fight back for a change.


Another thing I wanted to mention is that on the mod forum it shows that the creator is planning to make a new mod which involves cute little baby dragons. Here is a preview pic of the dragon and it looks epic! Only time will tell what he has planned.


That pretty much sums it up.

Ranged Attack

Just like normal skeletons, mutant skeletons shoot you with arrows too. Unfortunately, their arrows go through all bodies and can deal random effects such as poison, exhaustion, and movement slowdown. But all is not lost. If you can hit this creature right before it shoots the arrow, you may break its focus.

Melee Attack

Once you get too close to the mutant skeleton, it'll whack you far away, so it can shoot you again! This may not deal very much damage, but it'll take you a long time to get back!

Multi-Shot Attack

Too good at dodging arrows? Try dodging this! The mutant skeleton jumps into the air and fires six arrows at you!

Constrict

Wonder what that huge ribcage is used for? Squeezing the life out of you! In this attack, the mutant skeleton quickly smashes you together with its ribs and sends you up into the air! Seems like a tight situation! (Sorry for bad pun)

Healing
Just like the mutant zombie, the mutant skeleton doesn't burn in the day. Instead, it heals one heart every five seconds at night! I'd wait for the sun to rise!

Death
Finally killed the undead abomination? Careful! When the mutant skeleton dies, it's body bursts into pieces, and getting hit by flying bones will hurt! If you're still not dead, congratulations! You can now pick up (right-click) the pieces of your victory!

Mutant Skeleton Armor
But what do you do with these bones other than decoration and bragging? You craft some mutant skeleton armor! Make sure not to forget a piece. Every bone must be used! Although the full armor set is slightly weaker than iron, it has some special effects!

When the Mutant Skeleton Helmet is equipped, all critical midair arrow shots deal double the damage! However, there's a drawback! If you're not airborne, arrow shots will deal half the damage, and you can't get critical shot arrows! Also, 50% of the time, your arrow resources won't be depleted!

While also being the strongest mutant skeleton armor piece, when the Mutant Skeleton Chestplate is equipped, bows charge at four times the original rate!

How will you survive without strong armor? Be nimble with the Mutant Skeleton Leggings. When these are equipped, the player gains a Speed II boost! Dodge those attacks!

Kind of hard to stay airborne and use your Mutant Skeleton Chestplate ability? No problem! With the Mutant Skeleton Boots equipped, You can jump much higher, especially when sprinting!
