Hey guys!

Recently I was checking out thehippomaster21's Mutant Creatures mod and to my surprise I they had provided a little sneak peek at the latest mutant creature mob.

For those who don't know about this mod, it basically turns your average hostile mob into an overpowered killing machine. These mobs include creepers, enderman, snow golemns, zombie, and now the skeleton (Check out my youtube channel for a showcase on all these awesome creatures). Theses mobs can appear on the map naturally, and will rarely be encountered in packs. They can also be artificially created by throwing a deadly concoction called chemical X directly at unsuspecting mobs. The mob then has a 50/50 chance of either transforming or dying. If you throw chemical X at a mob that cannot mutate, it will die slowly. Each of these creatures have numerous unique attacks, which gives players a challenge and keep them on their toes. Facing them head on without a proper strategy could most likely get you killed.

Most of these mutated mobs are impressive, but the most curious of them all is the mutant skeleton. What exactly can this mystery beast do? Can it break players in half? Maybe maul its enemies to death. Perhaps it calls in hoards of deadly skeletons to do it's dirty work!

Nope. The truth is that the mutant skeleton is pretty useless right now. Considering normal hostile mobs, skeletons are the most powerful if you disregard the creepers. Their dead shot aim makes them very annoying, and quiet dangerous if you are unprepared. Though the Mutant skeleton is huge enough to make the normal skeleton look like an ant, a regular skeleton could probably kill you twice as fast as the mutant skeleton can. This is because this mutated mob is still in development, and is not yet equipped to battle at it's fullest potential.

If I remember correctly, he has around 200 hearts, which makes him somewhat hard to kill, and can also run fast. However, he has no long ranged attacks as of yet, so this basically makes him an oversized punching bag. He has one attack, which is basically a fist to the face. When he gets close enough he throws a punch, but it is very easy to dodge. Simply evading his punches leaves him wide open to take lots of sword damage. He can easily be killed with bow and arrows since he can't fight back with ranged attacks.

That being said, he is still in development, and we don't yet know what the creators have in store for this excellent mob. Mounted on the side of the Mutant skeletons arm is a crossbow. If the mutant starts using this weapon, you could be facing arrows the size of a car. That's just one of many awesome attacks the creators can equip this beast with. The possibilities are endless, and I for one cannot wait to see what they come up with. In addition to that, the mutant skeleton may also be given item drops. In which case I would love to see a usable crossbow.
