Minecraft quests

There have been many mods including this idea, but it would be so much easier if this was actually in the game. NPC quests would be great, it would add more ways to have fun in minecraft because after you have mined and built houses, there's really not much else to do. You could turn up at an NPC village and talk to a villager and ask him if there is anything he needs help with. if so, you could go out on a hunt for what he needs or maybe build some sort of farm for him. You maybe could be paid with diamonds or something? who knows. I thinks this would be great for minecraft on many levels
