Hello! I'm Funky_Zombie, and this is my submission to the Minedeas competition.
I call it the Medieval Weapons Modification Idea.
Armor:
Full Plate Mail Armor: Protects 1 more per piece than iron armor.Same durability as iron.
Gloves: Makes you punch harder, and if you right-click with them, you can defend yourself.^
Codpiece: Makes you unstunable.^
(Things with ^ are in new slots in the inventory screen)
Shield:
Shield: Can defend you, if you right click. It will take half the damage, and you won't be hit by any projectiles. Crafted with: Leather, iron, gold and diamond.
Weapons (All weapons (except whip) can be crafted with: Wood, cobblestone, iron, gold and diamond):
Greatsword: Does 150% the damage of a sword. 50% the speed.*
Dagger: Does 50% the damage of a sword. 200% the speed. Instant kills if sneaking, and attacking from behind.
Halberd: Does 200% the damage of a sword. 50% the speed. Double the reach.*
Polearm: Same as Halbard.*
Battleaxe: Same as Greatsword. 25% chance for bleeding.
Battlehammer: :Same as Greatsword. 25% chance for stun.*
Mace: Same as Battlehammer.
Longbow: 200% the damage of a bow. Shoots in a straight line for 400 blocks, then it starts too fall. Uses Longbow arrows,.*
Crossbow: Same as Longbow. Doubles the damage if target is within 20 blocks from the shooter. Uses Crossbow bolts.*
Whip: 50% the damage and speed of a sword. Double the reach. Causes bleeding for 10 seconds.
Spear: Same as Halberd. Right-click to throw. 25% chance for bleeding. 50% chance for bleeding if thrown.*
Sling: Does 50% the damage of a sword. 50/50 for bleeding/stun. 25% chance for both. Uses flint.
(Things with * are two-handed. Things without it can be dual wielded or wielded with a shield (Creates a main hand and offhand slot in the inventory))
Catapult:
Base: Can be placed on any flat 4x4 surface. Creates a 4x4 wooden plank plate 1 block in the air, with a wooden plank beneath each corner.
Arm; Place in the middle of a catapult base to create a catapult. Uses catapult stones. Creates a 3x3x3 hole wherever it shoots.
