Hey guys,
I know the 1.8 update is on its way, along with the enderman mob included with it, but I have many ideas for mobs that I think should be added. I know there might be some mobs similar to my list accessible trough mods, but let's forget about mobs at the moment, this is my idea of mobs that should be accessible without mods.
-Albatross: The albatross is roughly the size of a spider and can only be found where z > 100. The albatross would not attack, deal damage, in the day, but rather swoop down, grab you, and fly a certain distance before dropping you. It won't directly deal damage but would cause you to take fall damage. At night these beasts would turn into deadly predators, swooping down and pecking at you, having a 10% chance of taking an item in your active inventory.
Damage: o ¥o ¥o ¥
HP: o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥
Speed: 2 ( 1 being player speed)
Drops: Feather(s) Lost items, seeds
Weakness: An arrow to the belly of this mob will ground it allowing for a sword strike follow up
Difficulty found on: Medium+
-Dragon: The dragon is 6 meters in length and 1 tall by 1 wide. It has a fire blast of 3 meters long and 5 wide at the end. It will be a flying mob who attacks during mid day. A variety pf dragons can also be created, each having special blasts.
Damage: o ¥o ¥o ¥+ (+ referring to burn damage)
HP: o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥
Speed: 2 1/2
Drops: Dragon scale( Dragon scale is used for armor that is tiered between iron and diamond
Weakness: Bow will be the optimum weapon against dragons (Dragon flute? to control dragons?)
Difficulty found on: Hard
-Parasite: A mob which moves in the top block of the surface. It burrows its self into the block and chases the player in a 5 meter radius. It surfaces under the player launching them 2 blocks high in a random direction.
Damage:o ¥o ¥
HP: o ¥o ¥o ¥o ¥
Speed: 1
Drops: Gravel, Slime
Weakness: Shovel because if you manage to break the block it is burrowed in it will surface for 3 seconds, stunned.
Difficulty found on: Medium+
-Forest Guard: Forest guards appear only in a heavy forest biome where forest temples appear. Forest temples are much like the Aether dungeons, but only the entrance is visible from the surface, the player then takes the ladder down to the temple and solves the puzzles to gain access to the fat loots found within. He wields a sword and shield and is a true swordsman. Don't take him as a easy challenge

Dragons: should be bigger than that and tougher, and dragon armor should be the best one.
Parasite: I didn't even understand that...
Forest Guard: Nice idea like that.
Ideas: echidna, ghouls, platypus, wall gliders, essence, and sugar gliders :3.
Crocodile: crocodiles would only appear in swamp biomes and act rather like predators considering they are, they would spawn near fish schools which would also be a new addition to the game, and take up 5x5x2 blocks of water, and crocodiles would move rather like a snake although this would be a challenge for notch considering the tail joints, yet it would make my snake ideas swell, the more easier...

Drops: alligator skin (in-between iron and diamond, yet rare).

little over kill though, for all of them.
you should make a mod of them, i would download it.
