I believe that the idea I am bringing up in this blog is a very good one. This Idea/modification will add more fun and danger to the game as you are mining. I think that mojang should incorporate natural disasters to minecraft. Such as strong winds damage certain items and rain causes flash flood which damage farms. Also a big one that I find very interesting is the addition of earthquakes, I feel this would be awesome because if you are in a mine and an earthquake occurs and the entrance caves in you're all of a sudden lost. Which is the beginning of a new adventure and isn't minecraft all about adventure? Think about it like this, you are building your base and all of a sudden it starts to rain and the rain is actually pooling up outside then all of a sudden the water is quickly rising and you have to get inside. No real destruction but looks super cool. Also if they made blizzards so the snow actually stacked up over time. If you have a rough winter your small buildings start disappearing. Which this snow could also add more use of the shovels in game. I think this idea of natural disasters and such is a very good idea to add more of a realistic and adventurous aspect to the game...Because honestly minecraft is about the adventure and survival aspect. What makes my idea different than some of the mods that exist is the fact that I want to incorporate other things as well. I don't want just more destruction in the way of natural occurrences. I'd also like to give the iron door a use by making zombies capable of breaking the wooden ones down. I am very fond of the idea of having a harder to survival minecraft world, at the moment it is quite boring because once you are inside the only thing that can kill you is hunger. People should have to put more time into the structures of their building, preparing for zombie attacks, tornadoes, earthquakes, blizzards, floods. I also believe that skeletons should have a percentage of a chance to be able to break glass pane, giving more reason to use glass block.
The reason behind my idea is that I believe surviving in minecraft is far too easy. Once you got a little wooden house around you, you are safe. It makes survival get boring very quickly as you can just stay inside and breed your animals. I also find that mining is way too easy if you don't go into a cave, you will not die 95% of the time unless you go into the mob filled cave so I think that the earthquakes blocking off your tunnel and making you get lost would help add more excitement in that area. I understand that the game is not suppossed to be impossible and some people don't like having to work so hard at it but I believe that minecraft should incorporate a specific gamemode for this type of play.
Imagine a gamemode "super hardcore" where you truly had to fight to survive where it was a real achievement to live, unlike the hardcore mode that already exists which is super easy for minecraft fans. "Super hardcore" would be a true task every turn would have some struggles at it.

OVERVIEW OF IDEAS:
Zombies break wood doors
Tornadoes break weaker blocks; windows, wool, wheat, dirt structures, sand, flowers, etc.
Earthquakes cave in your caves and cause damage to some blocks (Based on percentages and odds.
Rain causes floods, drown farms.
Blizzard causes snow to stack up.
Percentage of skeletons breaking glass pane.
Silverfish destroying wood (act as termites).

More to come! Pictures as well!
Hurricane can blow down fence.

Okay so I noticed that there is a mod called super hardcore mode; www.planetminecraft.com/mod/11-super-hardcore-mode/ and I just want to clear up the fact that the only relation between my idea and this mod is the name, His/her mod is 100% different, effecting the output of items. So just to be clear my idea is still original!:D Any disputes please comment!

zombies can already break wood doors down in Normal and Hard. I like the natural disasters, though!

Wind could be simulated by giving each air block properties of heat, pressure, and density. These factors would simulate how air moves in our atmosphere on earth. The game wouldn't have too much lag because the air blocks themselves wouldn't move but the properties of each one would change depending on the surrounding blocks.

Hope you read and expand on this, thanks
