Hey guys! Enraric here again, with my first real content blog since my return! And for the first time in forever, it's not a story.
Diamonds. What are they for?
To me, a diamond is simply a way of saying "good job" or "well done". It's like if you saw a street preformer and tossed a coin in their instrument case. To go farther than that is to leave a comment which is akin to, of course, telling that street preformer something, and then there's the all-coveted favourite, which I equate to going home and purchasing the song on iTunes or something. But I digress, this blog is not about coments or favourites. So. A diamond is simply a way of saying you like something.
Why that cover image?
Because I'm trying to highlight the descripancy between what I tihnk the diamond count should be and what it is. Now, I understand that in the case of a project, the download and diamond count should not be equal because what you see is not always exactly what you get. For an example of a project with a high download count and low diamond count, check out my almost 3 year old adventure map. Honestly, it's awful. Though nowadays the diamond count would be higher, since that was back in the days of downvoting so scores were consistently lower. But I digress. My issue is with skins. What you see is exactly what you get, so if you like the skin enough to download and use for yourself, why would you not diamond it? You clearly like it. Now, I get that not all the downlaods are from PMC-ers, but I doubt of the 154 dowloads on Glitch, only 7 were PMC-ers. That seems absurd to me.
Diamond Etiquite?
I think, in the case of skins at least, which is where I almost exclusively fall now, if you like the skin enough to download and use, it's good enough to diamond. I can understand dowloading a skin to use as a reference for more skinning rather than for use as your in-game skin, but even then, you liked it enough to use it as a reference, right? So that's my oppinion on diamond etiquite. Even on my new skins, like my Watch_Dogs skin, got 45 downloads in a few days but only 2 diamonds. If we just all followed diamond etiquite, many more mostly unknown skinners (like myself) could get on the pop reel. Is that particular skin worth being on the reel? I don't think so, but I think my Storm Spirit skin is getting to that quality. I think if we all just diamoned a little more, everyone would be happier and feel more appreciated here at PMC.
Thanks for taking the time to read! Just a quick reminder that I have a forum page for skin requests and where I send out updates, I'd really appreciate it if you checked it out. Oh, and since the whole blog is on the subject... I'd appreciate some diamonds. :) Let's see if we can get this blog to the pop reel!

It's frustrating, since this problem basically plauges every single skin I have.
I try to release a blog every week, but I think I'm going to stick to articles since my story kind of tanked.
