VANNILA:
1. go to minecraft.net and download minecraft_server file
2. make a folder called My server
3. drag minecraft_server.jar file into it
4. double click it

1. download recommended craftbukkit
2. make start.bat file and click edit and paste in some stuff if you need further help:

if you wanna test it simply follow my steps:
1. go to multiplayer on minecraft
2.add server
3.type in server name: My server
4. type in the ip: localhost
5. it should work then
IF IT DOESNT:
1. go to your server folder and go to your server.properties and change name and add .txt on the end
2. go down to the thing that says: server ip=
3. type in your ip there
4.exit server.properties and then change name and remove .txt
