In this tutorial I will attempt to help you to run different versions on your new 1.6.1 Minecraft launcher.



So some of you out there may have not updated to this new update because maybe you down know how to downgrade or maybe because you wont be able to play your favorite server until they update it. But with this new Launcher that Mojang made you can play between three versions 1.5.1 - 1.5.2 - 1.6.1 and for the more technically advanced you can run other versions too... But I'm not getting into that. Alright so here goes.



Step1) Download new launcher here: https://minecraft.net/download

Step2) Launch the new Launcher.

Step3) *First time users ONLY* Login at the Bottom-Right corner & press play. When all is loaded exit out of the Game and the Launcher.

Step4) Open your launcher again (Minecraft.exe) and in the Top-Right-Corner click *New Profile*

Step5) Now look for (Profile Name:) make a description of what ur profile is (EX: MC1.5.2)

Step6) Now look for (Use Version:) and select your desired version (EX: Release 1.5.# / 1.6.#). Once done press the [Save Profile] button at the bottom.

Step7) Now that we have a profile made you must find an select it with the [Profile] tab at the Top-Right corner of your launcher. When selected you may have to re-enter your login credentials.

Step8) Press Login & Play again and your minecraft should be able to connect to 1.5.# servers now.

********DONE*********

NOTE) To get back to 1.6.1 please follow steps 7 through 8. But use 1.6.1 instead.
