As of yesterday a new snapshot for minecraft came out, however this time we were not told what the snapshot contained. SO, after much searching on my part I have found:
- No changes to the items
- No changes to the terrain
- No changes to the mobs
- No changes to the GUI
After doing all of this searching and finding no proof of a visual change in the minecraft.jar, I went and tested the .jar out myself.
What I found was quite extraordinary: - Stackable items now stack on the ground even when thrown individually.
- Holding SHIFT and clicking armor can now put it on the player.
- The "PICK BLOCK" function now works.
- Right-Clicking a powered minecart whilst in creative mode will act as though you had just given it coal.
- Dispensers can now deploy boats onto water and minecarts onto rails.
- There appear to be new biomes added such as Extreme Mountains and the return of Beaches.
- The generation of worlds looks to be more similar to that of 1.7.3
