The following instructions will help you to create your own map to play the game Obsidian Fortresses on.

(NOTE: this is NOT an automated version of the game as the original map posted on my account is! YOU, the player must refferee as you play, and BOTH teams must operate unter the honor system and promise not to break any rules!)

For those who don't know, the game Obsidian Fortresses is a simple game where two teams build bases around their respective Obsidian Bunkers (which contains a block of obsidian for each bunker) and gather resources in the "Build" phase, then, after a certain ammount of time (usually ~45 minutes), the "Battle" phase begins, in which the teams attack eachother's bases, with the goal of destroying the enemy team's obsidian.

The steps to re-create the game are as follows :
  1. Open a new world in Creative mode with cheats (if you want any special world gen features, like increaced ore, this is the place for you to do it!)
  2. Build a marker in the middle of the map. this can look however you want it to, but it is suggested it has a beacon on it (encased in bedrock and/or barrier blocks, so that neither team can disassemble the beacon for resources).
  3. Execute these commands:
    1. /scoreboard teams add Red (Adds teams)
    2. /scoreboard teams add Blue
    3. /scoreboard teams option Red color Red (Changes team colors)
    4. /scoreboard teams option Blue color Blue
    5. /scoreboard teams option Red friendlyfire false (Optional. Turns off friendly fire)
    6. /scoreboard teams option Blue friendlyfire false
    7. /scoreboard objectives add Kills playerKillCount Kills (Adds objective for kills. Optional, and doesn't affect gameplay. At thiss point you do not want anyother players killing eachother until the game starts.)
    8. /scoreboard objectives setdisplay sidebar Kills (Makes kill counter visible)
    9. /scoreboard teams join <Red Team Player(s)> (Replace <Red Team Player(s)> with the names of the players attempting to join Red)
    10. /scoreboard teams join <Blue Team Player(s)> (Replace <Blue Team Player(s)> with the names of the players attempting to join Blue)
    11. Change any gamerule options that you please. This can be naturalRegeneration, doMobSpawning, doFireTick, anything! :)

  4. Create the Bunkers.
    1. Stand in the middle of the "marker" you made earlier. Make sure you aren't flying, and are in gamemode 1.
    2. Execute the following commands:
      1. /tp <Your Name> ~100 ~10 ~ (Teleports you to the location of Red's Base. Remember where this is in relation to the middle! Hint: it is east of the middle)
      2. /fill ~2 ~-1 ~2 ~-2 ~3 ~-2 minecraft:bedrock 0 hollow (This will create a hollow box around you. Dig a 3x3 hole for a door facing the direction (west) that the middle is.)

    3. Place an obsidian block in the middle of the Red Bunker.
    4. You may also place a beacon on top of the bunker, with bedrock encasing it, and a barrier block (/give <Your Name> barrier 1) covering the beam, so it can still shine through.
    5. Return to the middle. (/tp <Your Name> ~-100 ~10 ~)
    6. Execute the following commands:
      1. /tp <Your Name> ~-100 ~10 ~ (Teleports you to the location of Blue's Base. Remember where this is in relation to the middle! Hint: it is west of the middle)
      2. /fill ~2 ~-1 ~2 ~-2 ~3 ~-2 minecraft:bedrock 0 hollow (This will create a hollow box around you. Dig a 3x3 hole for a door facing the direction (east) that the middle is.)

    7. Place an obsidian block in the middle of the Blue Bunker.
    8. You may also place a beacon on top of the bunker, with bedrock encasing it, and a barrier block (/give <Your Name> barrier 1) covering the beam, so it can still shine through. (If you did this for Red, definetly do it for Blue!)

  5. Create starter chests for teams
    1. Fill a chest with all the items you think the teams will need. (Ex: anything that may take a long time to get, or you just want available to them from the start)
    2. Copy the chest by Middle-Clicking while holding Ctrl (Ctrl + Mid)
    3. Place one of the copied chests into each bunker, make sure they actually have the items in them!!!
    4. Remove the original chest that you originally placed in the world.

  6. Create two respawn Bunkers for both teams.
    1. Go to the Red Bunker.
    2. Execute these commands and complete the steps otherwise:
      1. /tp <Your Name> ~ ~10 ~75 (Places you at the location of the respawn bunker)
      2. /fill ~2 ~-1 ~2 ~-2 ~3 ~-2 minecraft:bedrock 0 hollow (Creates a hollow box for the bunker)
      3. Dig out one 3x3 door from each side of the bunker
      4. /spawnpoint @a[team=Red] ~ ~ ~

    3. Go to the blue Bunker.
    4. Execute these commands and complete the steps otherwise:
      1. /tp <Your Name> ~ ~10 ~-75 (Places you at the location of the respawn bunker)
      2. /fill ~2 ~-1 ~2 ~-2 ~3 ~-2 minecraft:bedrock 0 hollow (Creates a hollow box for the bunker)
      3. Dig out one 3x3 door from each side of the bunker
      4. /spawnpoint @a[team=Blue] ~ ~ ~

  7. Share the following rules with eachother!
    • Do not attack the opposing team until the "Battle" time begins.
    • Do not cross into the opposing teams side of the map until the "Battle" time begins.
    • (Optional) Do NOT place another obsidian block in, or in front of your team's obsidian bunker.
    • Do not cheat by spawning in items, summoning entities, changing gamerules, or any other dishonourable act.
    • All players shall remain in gamemode 0, unless otherwise specified by an agreement by both teams.
    • Neither team shall destroy any becon placed into the world before the start of the game.
    • If any team breaks these rules without the consent of their opposing team, the opposing team has the right to declare immediate victory. If the guilty party is unwilling to accept these terms, shame on them (thou hast been shunned)!

  8. Teleport all players to their respective bases, place all players in gamemode 0, and start the "Building" phase and its 45 minute timer. After this timer has gone off, the person who started it will inform all players that the "Battle" phase has begun. While the timer is ticking, either team may ask for the time to be given to them.
