Sheesh, not having MCPatcher is like being a tramp now...

MCPatcherpng

Okay. So today most players have MCPatcher, which you pretty much need unless you want your texture packs to suck. But why is it that we need it, instead of it just being the texture packs don't look like poop anyway? People can be harsh if you don't have it.

Once I got this Texture Pack and nearly every single block said some offensive nonsense like: "PATCHER DUMBO LOL!" or "N00b Patcher!", but why bother? Having to download an addon for a texture pack to work is either:

a) The texture pack makers being lazy, or

b) Causing bugs, which I can understand.

But if it isn't bugs, why be so lazy to make it so you have to download it for people to use your texture pack instead of it just being normal anyway? If they are being lazy why write offensive text on fluids that don't work? This is annoying and texture pack makers out there, why?

And if Mojang came up with it then god why? Were they so bothered as to code the game but not fix the texture packs, so until somebody invented patcher everybody had their way of Minecraft's look? Also, half the sites you get MCPatcher downloaded from have ads everywhere, so you don't know what's the download button from a Iphone 5 scam!

This is just really, REALLY annoying. Diamond should be left if you agree, but DUHR lets go on a site where every diamond button is for a virus! YUEH LET DO DAT!

MCPatcher is annoying, yes, but you should better use Optifine, it does the same as MCP and removes lag etc.
Okay, so to get to the point, running HD texture packs without MCP/Optifine is buggy (like fire, water or lava animations on grass) and you can't see any (non-bug) animations. The next Minecraft version is said to not require this anymore, thus animations and HD will be supported, but there patchers were really annoying before, and still are. Texture pack makers are not being lazy when they say you need patchers, they are being the opposite of lazy.

okay, one question. Why did they not include no more MCPacther in the early updates when it was still around?

I mean how do they add the feature for not needing it so late?

Well, they didn't actually intend to add HD texture support, Jeb just fixed the 'terrain.png' file (it was reverse), but when he was fixing it he separated every block from each other (each block has it's own file) and that added HD support. Now you can make texture packs with any resolution you want (even 1024x)

In other words they did not want to add HD support.
