Port forwarding help!

Okay so I just have a quick question. Does port forwarding give people access to your computer? It's really important that I know before i do this because it's a work computer.

only the open port on your computer. Which you set. and thats the one you forward with your router account. Because they cant do anything with your ip. But if you have something running on a certain port, they put ( :port#) at the end of the ip. So, NO. I have a server, but its on a home computer and its basically all my computer does. With a server, its not the hackers I would worry about, but the amount of RAM it uses and lags your computer shit sometimes. So make sure you have a good computer. I feel awesome because I'm 14 and know more about this than most people.

Trust me, if you have any open ports, a "skilled" hacker can get it through it, luckily there isn't that many "skilled" network hackers anymore. Basically if you open a port then that means the port that is open now accepts connections. When you port forward to a specific ip, it makes all connections go to that ip.

Um cool. Yeah, my dads computer is a work computer so I'm not a loud to do this. As soon as I get my own router, I'm gonna portforward, but not right this second.

Congrats, glad someone knows more then I do.
