Well I have worked on the Fire temple for sometime now and I know it is not the best looking thing but I love the game play for it so far, and if you have read my other blog post you would know that is what I care about. I probably will go back and look for a way to make it look nice as well, but now I want good game play. So The Fire Temple update comes with 3 new locations they feel short but the dungeon is pretty big. These locations are Kakariko Village, Death Mountain Pass, and the one and only Death Mountain. These locations where designed to look and feel like Zelda. I have second thoughts on the Death Mountain Pass though. The other thought is the fact that the Mountain looks pretty fat, and that is pretty weird I had no idea what is would look like when I was designing it.
I am pretty exited to be making the Zora domain and the Water Temple bellow Lake Hylian. It is pretty cool to something like this the one dungeon that gave me the most trouble in Oot. (fun but got to hate that place) I am exited to be using the one enemy the game has only seen once the Water Spider. I am amping up the difficulty, because in a Zelda game the third dungeon is always the end of the First Chapter of the Game of the 3 Chapter counting the other dungeons. The main room of the dungeon gives my good ideas in my head.
Well back to the Fire temple i have designed a little puzzle built into the fight that must be completed in order to win. I like the idea because it keeps you on your tows. I don't like how it take away the possibility of making a cut sense before gameplay begins, but I am ok with that. One thing I am sad about is how I am unable use Flint and steel for a puzzle. So instead if you feel like using bombs for your reward, do it. Also I had to make two boss doors. I didn't like doing that I though Flint and Steel would be alot better game play element.
