A burst of light suddenly awoken me. My body seemed to be sore, as my lungs panted for air. The room around me was dark, as only candles lite up the room. A cooling sensation was wrapping around my body, but I couldn't look down. My neck felt broken, as the pain seem to ignite my body into a scream. My heart pounded so fast, I could feel something slip off my body. I used all my strength to move my eye to the corner, to see myself wrapped in bandage tape. The oak wood floor creaked as I tried to roll. As my vision began to adapt to this darkness, I noticed a frame. The picture had a young boy with a fishing rod. He was smiling gently, as behind him was... it was me. I instantly recognize the boy, it was Thomas. I sighed with relief, as suddenly the candle above me fell off the counter. It fell down so fast, I couldn't react, but the candle before it could reach my face... seemed to levitate in the air. My body screamed of pain as the more it stayed there, the more my chest burned. The candle wax began to flow down to the corner of the candlestick. The flame was still ignited, as the wax was almost dripping down. My chest felt literally on fire at this point, it roared of agony as the candle began to shake. I used the last bit of my strength to roll over a feet, as I stopped concentrating, and yelled of exhaustion. The candle fell and cracked in half. The flame blew out with a faint woosh.

"Holy crap." I whispered. "Did I?..." With disbelief, I cheered. With a crack, my ribs seem to break. I began to calm down, as the wooden axe beside me seem to have an ant crawling over it. Then more. Even more. At this point the axe was covered. The ants began to infect the whole half of the room. The candles fell down and burned the floor, as my eyes opened wide open. With a creek, the door opened. Nobody was there. With a sudden shock, my toe burned as the candles began to fly all over the room. The room was in a dark despair, as I cried for help. Nobody came. I was engulfed by the flame, as it took down the whole room.

My eyes opened back up, with a shimmer, I noticed something familiar. This was the day I went on a date with-

I couldn't finish, because I remembered how this day finished. I grabbed onto the pipe beside me, it began to crack as I squeezed harder. My old-self didn't notice, he didn't even see me in plain light. I stared at him, not saying anything.

Then I remembered.

The dusty wood, cracked and old, laid in the basement of my house. The charcoal above began to warmth the house, as the wood's smell filled the air. It was a fragrance of nature, the sweet sap of the oak tree still smells natural, like a forest that you can spin around and fall down into a pile of hardened leaves. The perfect scent with a candle that perfected it. The delicious roasted chicken lies in the middle of our table. I made this for a special occasion, like this.

She was my dream girl, the girl I've waited for days, her bright smile lighted up my day whenever I was down, and her warming eyes comforted me. I met her a long time ago, when she was abandoned in the woods, I gazed into her endless, lost eyes. Her solid black eyes stared into an infinite path. I slowly picked her up, and piggybacked her to a safer place. She was soon adopted and brought into a wonderful home. I grew up with her, and was her closest friend.

About a week ago I asked her on a date, she blushed with delight when I asked, and laughed. Her cute voice made me blush as I figured out this was really weird. It was a week then, but now, 2 years. Her name was Lily. She was a bright young girl, a brown-headed beauty. I loved her since I set eyes on her. I loved. I loved her.

As I- or my old self, began setting the table, a bang on the door, echoed through the hallways. I knew what stood behind that door. I began to walk with my old self, not able to touch him. For some reason, I wasn't able to touch stuff near him, but stuff he would not notice. I tried to tell him not to open it, but my voice didn't appear. Just a blow of wind. As the door began to open, the air seem to become cold. I remembered what happened now.

An iron gun appeared into my face, the girl- Lily, was held by a large man in a black sweater, and leather pants. He strained her neck, as blood appeared down her forehead. My eyes opened wide, as the man took out a large iron dagger. He began to stab me in the chest, as a sudden force appeared right after that, pushing me back into the kitchen table. It broke in half as my back cracked. Blood forced itself out of my mouth, as one of my eyes wouldn't open.

"Where do you keep the money?" the man asked calmly. His tattoo was a renegade tribe that roamed the village. I began to tear as Lily appeared dead. The man grabbed the furnace door and broke it off. He then seemingly bent it with his mind. It broke multiple times into a blunt object. He slowly moved it towards my head. The corner of my mouth was filled with blood, as the birch ceiling began to collapse, probably from the force he sent me flying.

Without any hope left, a blur suddenly appeared in front of me. It was so faint before, but I could see who it was today. I smiled, as I saw him. My old-self suddenly blacked out, as the man seemed to disappear with the man. Lily was left behind. As the man left, Lily groaned with pain. I approached her. I thought she had died. I thought I had died. But she got up, without any clue where she was, she slowly walked out of the house. I followed her to the door, but suddenly turned around. My body was gone, and the man appeared. He looked at me, as if he can see me. He grinned and walked towards me. For a second, I believed he saw me, but he simply walked through me. Thomas's footstep creeked, just like when I was in his house. I turned around to see the door wasn't a door anymore. It was a gravestone. My house started to get crumpled away, as a dark scenery appeared.

This was her funeral.

I looked around, to find myself. I was sitting on the swing by myself. Thomas glared over at me, but turned back around to pay his respect. I walked towards myself. It was funny, he was so short, and childish. But today I would be changed. I remember this is what stiffened me, what would be the end of my first era. Pigs and cows frolic in the fields behind me. Each of my footsteps made the swing move a little bit, as I got right next to him. A shadow cast before him. I remembered that. A shadow that oddly appeared. But it was mine. I slowly took my hand, and put it on his head. It didn't go through.

He began to look up, he grinned. But tears still rushed down his face. His dirty leather tunic, and his expression saddened me. I knew better than anyone I wasn't happy. I wasn't even okay. Without warning, Thomas patted me on the back. My old-self disappeared, as when I turned back to Thomas, it wasn't him. It was my sister. I suddenly felt different, as I then looked down at my body. I was shorter, as Alena seemed to become a giant. I was wearing a dirty leather tunic, and my hands was small. I had become my old self.

"I'm sorry." she moaned.

"I am too." I replied. She looked puzzled, as she smiled brightly. A smile... that was new. I grabbed her hand and mouthed I love you. She looked even more confused, but I suddenly blinked, as it all disappeared in an instant. I woke up in a warm bed.

The sheets was made of wool. as a diamond sword hanged over my head. I didn't feel any pain. It was all gone. I had no wounds as I got up. I felt different. I felt changed. As I walked over to the door, it felt as if I opened a gate to a new era.
