Greetings fellow Minescrafters.
In the past few weeks I have had a few users Messaging me looking for advice on how to get more Diamonds, Downloads, views, etc. on their Submissions. I told them to Take more time submitting their work, and to make Quality projects, and all that. But sometimes we need someone to Show us how do do this, not just give our 2 cents and hope they understand and know how to implement such methods of Presentation.
So I wrote a Blog.
Part 1:
Quality Descriptions and Titles
A good Description can mean the difference between a viewer deciding to or to not Diamond, download, favorite, etc.
Think about how users like Disco, Hypixel, Vareide, General John, and others Descriptions Look, They are well planned, Listing some of the features and maybe the architectural designs and theme(if its a project).
The main thing to look for in your descriptions, It should well describe and inform the reader of your submission.
Always use Proper Grammar.
Don't tell the user to diamond, download of favorite your Submission, Ask politely at the end, Something like: If you liked this Build, Please show your appreciation for my work by Giving it a diamond.
Titles are also Very Important, its also pretty easy to make a professional one.
Three rules of Titles(At least to me):
1. Capitalize what needs to be.
2. Put extra information in () or [], Example: Castle of Arthia(50 Sub Special)
3. Not too long, No one wants to spend 10 seconds just reading the title!
Here is an example of what not to do:
Also, Always have a World Download, not Just a Schematic.
Part 2:
Quality Pictures
This Is Extremely important when it comes to Projects and Texture packs, People want to see Edited Screenshots with Shaders and Fancy text Banners. And Plenty of them, the more pictures the better, This will show the viewer the full package, who wants to download some house with only ONE Picture?
Don't go overboard on the editing though, too many photo editing effects and make the picture hard to see or define.
Here is an example of what Not to do:
UGH, Its soo Ugly, Why?
1. I did not load all the chunks!
2. The Window bar at the top was not cropped out, plus you can see the pop up internet message.
3. No Optifine or shaders, Optifine allows you to remove the Noise created by rendering textures from far away, so it looks Smoother.
Here is a good Example:
Good Text, Easy to see, And it is edited with enhancements.
Part 3:
Quality Work
Even if you have the Best Description, Quality Pictures, but you built a cruddy house with no background landscape, Don't expect to see the Diamonds Rack up.
Make Something you are Proud of, Something you Spent time and effort into, not some tower you built in 30 minutes.
If you don't know how to make good Minecraft builds, Go download some, look at them. Practice, the more you build the better you get. Watch tutorials online, read blogs on Building.
Also, Be sure and put some landscape in your builds, Its Way Better than Flatland.
That about covers it, I hope you Learned how to Present your submissions in a Professional manner.
I also Want to Say thank you to My 100 Subscribers!!
Thank you all, When I first joined PMC, I Never Dreamed of having 100 Subs, well thanks to the wonderful Community, Here I Stand.
