If your a new Minecraft player, and you want to know how to use redstone and make great contraptions, you've come to the right place. First of all you need to know how to power and unpower a redstone circuit. Its very simple. You will need a: Rdstone Torch, Button, or lever

These are power sources. Each of these sources are different. The lever can be manually turn on and off. The button stays on for a second, then turns off. The redstone torch is powered forever.

Next: Inverting
Inverting can be very useful for many contraptions. This is an inverter: First, put a block down. Put a redstone torch on the side of the block. Now put a lever on the same block. You can now turn the torch on and off. Its very useful for many circuits.

Next: Redstone line
Redstone line can traver up to 16 pieces of redstone dust. To solve this problem, you can make a reapeater:
When you place this down, it repeats the 16 lines of restone dust. Redstone can only go through a repeater one way. Make sure you don't get confused. :)
