Hello Readers! This story is an entry for Jiffy's Blog contest! Entries are open 'till December 12th, 2014. So if you still wanna enter, there is some times! I hope you enjoy this story, and wish me luck in the contest :)
I scurried across the wooden planks, clinging to the gold necklace. The wrags on my feet were clinging together by strings, so I felt every rough splinter and crack of the aged wood. The officers were nearly caught up to me, so I used my signature move, as I like to call it. When I jumped into the water below to swim off into my little cave, I expected to feel the cool plunge of water and bubbles surrounding me. Instead, I felt air. "What the..." I was very confused, and looked down to see my feet on top of the water. "But...How...What?!" How was I standing on water?!
"H-H-Halt! Yo-Y-Your..... your under.... arrest..." Said the scrawny little officer, pointing what I assumed was some form of a pistol at me. "Y-You, are.... are arr...arrested for....." "Well... Nice chatting with you officer, but I've really got somewhere to be, and unfortunately for you, prison isn't that place :)." "...." "Aw, come on. You're not even gonna shoot?" At this point, I guess my brain thought I missed the leap or something... and diddn't even remember looking down... "H-How am I standing on water????!!?!?!" "Well.... can I take you into custody? I have a wife and 3 kids to go home to... and I really don't wanna... ya know... die." Normally by this point, I probably would've been laughing my head off, being that this guy was holding the gun to ME. But anyway, back to the story "Uhmm.... no. Sorry buddy!" I screeched, as I ran across the water, but one thing bugged me... Why was I still not falling into the water?! "Oh come on... just fall in!" I said, jumping against the water, as if expecting for some sort of magical door to open and invite me in. "Why... won't... it.... WORK!!!"
*Bang Bang*
I just lied there... I guess I never expected him to actually shoot... he shot me in the leg... I just... "Dah..." "Sir! I got him!" "Patterson! Are you crazy?! You weren't supposed to shoot the man! If the department finds out... they're gonna have our heads on a platter! Now, I'd say to dispose of his body in the river.. but you know what we just saw..." "Yes Si-" "I'm not dead you delusional idiots! Now I...I... I'm going... To kill you both!!" "Wh...What!? You... you... you're floating and... and is that fire?!" "You better believe. Now you will burn by my hands! Prepare yourselves... for you will all now... die!!!" "R-Run for your life! Aaaahhh!" Those were those man's last words... before he was blown into a million pieces... "Duh...A-Ahh....." That was my last breath... for a while
It was around this time that I woke up. I had no idea where I was now.. but... I.. I was floating on air?! "Woah... this... this...this isn't normal!!" "Please... stop resisting... you should be out of here soon enough..." "Who are you and where am I?" "I'm simply your imagination... how do you think you were walking on water? And you are stuck in an eternal sleep,, the only way out.. is to locate the source of your sleeping.. which is nearly impossible. The only way to even look to the outside world is through a globe at the very edge of this world... and besides, this is punishment for all the crimes you commited. If you are lucky, you will one day escaoe... however, feel free to try. But just note, if you die here, you will die in the out-side world as well... I wish you luck, and that you may one day return to recompense for your mis-deeds."
Epilogue
The Legend tells of a theif who was unaware of what he did... He scavanged a city only to satisfy the demons inside him... he was controlled. While in his eternal slumber, he attempted to find any way possible out of it, and went north to find the globe of which his imagination spoke of. People have reportedly seen his spirit come inside their homes, looking for something of value for the demons inside him. While on his journey to find this globe to peer into the outside world, he was never heard from... he dissapeared if you will. No one was ever able to find him... at least, in his eternal slumber. Legend has it that who ever dare disses his name in front of the lake where he "defied" logic, he curses thee with a thousand misfortunes....
Yeah, I know this story wasn't close to anything of my standards, but yet I'm officially entering it anyway... if reminded, I will make an actually GOOD story out of this, but until then, thanks for bearing with me.
