Season 1: The Time Machine
Chapter 2: Just a Fantasy
Ah, what a beautiful medieval village. There are humans and villagers coexisting and trading. All of this is amplified because we're in a "suburb" of the capital city. Suddenly, *POOF*! Among some swirls and smoke, a weird, colorful vehicle emerges from nowhere. Everyone is confused and amazed with what is happening. As soon as Ender Sparkle gets off the Time Machine, everyone is scared and they run in all directions, all because of her species. It's like a total disaster, but without all the destruction and fire, only pure havoc from that. When Ender Sparkle is trying to realize what is going on, some braver town inhabitants grab their pitchforks and point at our protagonist. After E.S. was arrested, the lesser guards thought examining who they found was a good idea, and another good idea for them was to bring that foundling to the throne room, so the King could judge her. And that is how the hearing went:
- (Lesser Guard 1) King, we have found this foul beast at the end of your city. What should we do with it?
- Uhh, Your Majesty, what is happening?
- (LG2) AH! The drake is talking!
- Of course I can talk, you ironed jimbos. And I didn't even do anythi-
- (King) I have decided. I don't know neither what are your intentions, drake, or this giant gold creature, so I will lock you in the dungeons, just in case. Meanwhile the gold one... It stays, it doesn't really move, so it's safe to leave it alone.
And the King's order was fulfilled. After few hours of doing whatever characters do in prison in movies, E.S. started overhearing Lesser Guards' (who got promoted for their achievement of capturing a dragon) discussion.
- (Promoted Guard 1) Ah, we got some monster problems every single day. Not only regular undead, but also skeletons black as tar, a giant dragon, and a smaller one. Luckily, we got 'em locked.
- (PG2) That's our proof we are loyal to our King. Bigger reptile wasn't like this before. It was eating once a month 4 sheep from neighboring village. But once the new skeletons arrived, it became just like in myths.
- Oh, I happen to know something... - The guards turned around, and Ender Sparkle continued - Enderians and withered undead are mortal enemies since the dawn of time. For other dragons, we are like distant cousins. I could theoretically help you by fending off the skeletons and calming down my cousin*, but since you don't want me here I'll just get the Time Machine and get away...
- (PG2) Alright, don't mess up. We're starting this plan at night.
And as soon as the sun has set, Ender Sparkle escaped the cell and went to a neighboring mountain, where some smoke was coming out. When she entered the native dragon's keep, she heard a deep, draconic voice.
- (Dragon) I sense a foreign, yet familiar figure. Who are you?
- And who are you?
The nearby giant torch fireplace went ablaze with a single breath of the reptilian landlord, revealing his appearance; the dragon had emerald green scales, his bone-like parts like wing bones, horns and tail appendages were dark green and the eyes were as yellow as the fire in the torch pile.
- (Dragon) I am called by many names. The Beast, The Drake, Devourer or even Embodiment of Greed. Of course I like to hoard, but to call me an embodiment of a primal sin because of that? My true name is Lant. And what is your name, cousin?
- My name is Ender Sparkle, and I came from future, believe it or not. I heard local people complain about your presence. Have you done anything bad to them?
- (Lant) Of course not! I was just a normal dragon - hunting sometimes in the woods, hoarding treasures that no one found yet, and keeping the fireplace ablaze. Only snatched a sheep or two once in twelve moons, because these are a delicacy that we're not meant to eat, at least that often as presented in gossips. But a week ago... Something terrible happened. You know that common dragons like me aside from their aligned element get their power from gold? It was stolen. My 172 years of hoarding legacy - all stolen by those bony freaks. Well, there's a small pile of gold here, but this barely allows me to breath fire. I am truly in misery, and since I can't move away far from that little wealth left, I feed on sheep. They are addicting. They start to make me crazy. One was even tastier than others because it was a stuffed doll filled with sulphur. This gave me back my normal mindset, but I'm starting to go hungry again...
- Wait, "bony freaks"? What did they look like? Maybe we have the same enemy...
- (Lant) There... was a whole army. when I knocked out 10 of them, another 30 appeared. They were even darker than you, they stinked like tar and how humans describe smell of my smoke, and one even had a crown already!
- That's Wither King and his army! Did they made a mess in any way else?
- This undead scum threatened to attack the city. I always hated undead - zombies, skeletons of every kind. Phantoms are mean, but they at least appear rarely and they apologize once in a while. Their job is at least useful: giving sweet dreams to pure hearted and nightmares to the evil. Oh, wait. The moon begins to set. You better warn the king or we're all doomed.
Ender Sparkle flew back to the castle, but entered it through a tower window, she wandered for a while, until the king has spotted her.
- (King) Gah, the dark drake! You escaped! Why are you here?
- I need to tell you something important. The dragon's not the problem. The wither skeletons are. And they are going to attack tomorrow.
- (King) Of course, a dragon defends a dragon. I am not sure if I should believe you, especially after the things the other dragon has done in the last week.
- (Nearby Guard) Your Majesty, she has a point.There were multiple sightings of even more otherworldly undead recently, and suspiciously, in the same time period the green dragon became as furious as gossips tell.
- If you don't like me so much, why won't you let me leave? It's always good to be ready to resist a possible incoming raid. If you give me access to the Time Machine, or how you call it, "the golden creature", I promise I won't show up in this place and time again.
- (King) Wait, what's a Time Machine?
- *sigh* I guess this time period is already too messed up - Then Ender Sparkle smells the odd smell of liquid redstone, burning wool and concrete - I think I have to go.
Ender Sparkle was repairing the Time Machine for 14 hours (that's impressive since Ender Sparkle, even if she helped with previous Professor Steve's projects, she never got any access to the Time Machine up until now), and when she was about to depart, the king wanted to see her. The king was thankful for the warning, and he told Ender Sparkle that:
1. The battle was won by the living
2. The kingdom made an alliance with the dragon
3. Before microscopic remnants of withered army departed, few infantrymen found a crystal essence, which was somehow crucial to reboot the Time Machine.
Ender Sparkle's last thoughts before departure were: "Hmm, medieval times sure were weird. At least I made a friend and I can go back to my duty now. I'll check now the tracking system I made... Bingo! This is Wither King's space-time position. Here I come!"
*cousin - That's how dragons call each other, even if they are total strangers.
