Hi,
I am extremely new to Planet Minecraft. This blog, in short, will be about different servers I actually go on. The 5 minute Planet Minecraft reviews don't truly tell you what the server is about. I will always play at least one week on a server before reviewing it. I mean, it is simple to put on a plastic smiley face for a couple of minutes to get a good rating. I will also being doing the reviews without announcing them, so I am treated as any player would be.
Happy (Extended) mining!

REVIEW 1:
Palmergames.com
As you first step into Palmer Games, you are thrust into an aura of confusion. A vital beginning plugin is missing, making it hard to rank up. The few mods that are online- are talking to themselves, giving no consideration to the players whatsoever. In the meantime, you will more than likely enter the Portal Network, which doesn't work if you are not ranked up. After you are ranked up, you will more than likely go into the Mining World Portal or Lakeside Village Portal What they neglect to mention to you in the rules and notices section, is that in Mining world, unlike the rest of the server, Random PVP is allowed (And trust me, the people with diamond armor take advantage of that.)
In Lakeside Village, you will more than likely be ready to punch out your monitor due to the various protection methods the OPs have put on the server (Towny, Lockette, etc.) have smartly, but yet again without warning, have put on. Once you are in The Wilderness, you may think Hey, I can build and destroy now!!! But, due to the particular way Towny is configured, you can only chop down trees. I am not saying that this is a bad thing, I just wish there was a better communication for the new players.
During the time it takes to accumulate the $250 necessary to create your own town, you can either tough it out in Mining World or join someone else's town. With the amount of players on this server, there are bound to be some bad players/towns. While I was playing there, someone ragemoded and deleted a town, with only a 5 SECOND warning. This is not nearly enough time to alert all active players in the town. Some of the players aren't that nice, and they don't care.
Within Town aspects, after you pay $250+ to get your town made, there is an update. this server does not update, but instead they fix Taxes. Many of the major towns were knocked down due to this fix. No refund was given whatsoever. Most of the servers problems come with communication. The best aspects of the server seem to be the plugins, which anyone can mock.
I thought I would run into this saying good things galore, but it seems not. It also seems as if enforcement of rules is not equal. One of the rules may even strike offensive to some players.
[10] No Homo
I checked, and the above rule did in fact, refer to sexuality.
I will now go through the entire rule list, and judge how much punishment there is to breaking each rule. 1= Staff mostly ignores the breaking of this rule, to 10 being an overreaction, 5 is perfect
[1] Be friendly and respectful -2- Staff only calls this out if it is being referred to the staff
[2] Be ethical. No hacking -5- It depends on the intent of the hack, and if it is being used multiple times. I think they handle hack enforcement well on this server.
[3] Do NOT break other's builds. Stealing is bannable -3- As before, griefing is allowed, as long as not to an admin. My town was directly griefed, and the only response I got was "Your town should be safer" Not well enforced at all.
[4] Do not Blame others for your account -NA-
[5] No asking for items to be spawned -5- I think they handle this quite well, simply kicking anyone who asks.
[6] Only TWO wolves -5- Yet again, handled well. They simply kill all wolves if you have more than two.
[7] Do not ask to be promoted -5- Just a simple kick, similar to rule 5
[8] No random PvP please. Have a reason to fight. -3- So many excuses, considering "reasons" can be bent wildly. Pretty well enforced.
[9] No advertising of other servers -9- The staff usually bans for promoting other servers. A bit of an overreaction, in my mind/
[10] No Homo. -8- There have been a couple of kicks for "homo", which I find stupid.
Time for a few categories to rate this on!
I suppose for now and on I will use
Easy to Play: (1-10)
Nice Staff: (1-10)
Nice Community: (1-10)
Grief Protection; (1-10)
Consequences: (1-10)
So, for Palmer Games, here are my ratings;
Easy to Play: 6- You eventually get used to it.
Nice Staff: 5- It really depends who is online at the time.
Nice Community: 3- Only a few nice players. The rest pretty much hold Mining World hostage.
Grief Protection: 6 - Great grief Protection opportunities, but, if something is griefed, then there isn't much to do.
Consequences: 4- I feel a few rules are handled too severely, or less severely then they should be.
