Heres the the reply I posted to punch455 about the topic.


.. I dunno, they are both annoying. One time you're mining then you hear a sudden hiss in the background. Then BOOM. You're dead. Skeletons shoot you constantly and give you knockback. You charge, then you get shot, then you charge again, and then get shot. It keeps happening till you're dead.

Since I can't make up my mind I will list down the pros and cons. Creeper:
Pros:
- Lots of damage
- Good stealth
- Looks cute to newbs
- 20 HP
- Drops music discs
- Can turn into a charged creeper, resulting more damage.
- Small terrain damage
- Can survive sunlight
Cons:
- Attack is suicide-style
- Can't wear any armor
- Can't wield any weapons
- Slow
- Stops detonation once player flees
- Cannot use doors or climb ladders
- The Creepers' explosion is weaker than TNT
- Exploding in water gives no terrain damage
- Scared of cats and ocelots (Meow.)

Skeletons:
Pros:
-16 radius of blocks player detection
-Can wield bows and arrows. including swords
-Can open and close doors as well as climb trees
-infinite arrows
-Circles around players to avoid attacks
-20HP
-Can form a spider jockey
-Runs away from dogs
-Runs away from detonating creepers
-Medium speed
-Acts like zombies if wielding no weapon
-Can be found with wither skeletons, creating a bigger battle
-Heals from splash potion of harming
-Enchantments on the bow could be deadly
Cons:
-Players Can easily hide from skeletons in vines and sugarcane
-Burns in sunlight
-Skeletons are vulnerable to daylight (water, shade or helmet protects them), lava, fire, falling, suffocation, and contact with cacti
-Can be killed by other mobs if the Skeleton inadvertently hits another mob
-Gets hurt from splash potion of healing
-runs from dogs
-Skeletons are a useful source of bones and arrows. Making it a good target for a player.
