This is my Newbie Shack that I came up with today. It's small but I think it has character, although I could try to make it bigger for more storage areas. The doorway has a new torch holder design and above the bed is a redstone lamp. In front of the bed is the entrance to the mine shaft(it's simply just a ladder down to layer twelve) and in the corner there is a desk with a potted plant spruce sapling.
