Minecraft Survival: Your Ultimate Caving Guide
Brought to you by SuperPro

Now, I know a lot of people don't like caving or just isn't really good at it. I have to admit, I'm one of them. There's just something scary about venturing into the unknown with only a piece of sharpened metal and a burning stick to keep those monsters at bay. However, like the old saying says, no pain, no gain. You can't get those shiny ores without suffering an arrow or two. Back in my days, when you find your first diamond through caving, that is truly something to remember. We don't have those fancy villages or ruined portals where you can get free loot without hard work. So here's a guide so you can become better, if not the best.

1.Stock Up
Caving requires a lot of resources that will save your lives. Bring tools like pickaxes, shovels and swords. Remember to bring spares in case your tool runs out of durability. Bring other items like torches (preferably at least one stack), building blocks to span gaps and ravines (Cobblestone is good), food so you won't starve to death deep underground (foodstuff that can stack like meat or fish) and at least one bucket of water so you can clutch in case you fall or you're melting in lava. Bring some wood so you can immediately craft a crafting table and use the crafting table and stone to make an instant furnace. If you bring a flint and steel, you can still light up stone in case you run out of torches.

2.Be On Your Guard
The Underground is definitely not the best place to be. Filled with sky-high drops, lava pools, dangerous structures and mobs that want to eat you for lunch (or dinner), you're gonna die easily unless you have the right preparations. A shield is perfect for beginners since it can block arrows from skeletons and creeper explosions. Make sure to check those corners to make sure there are no backstabbing zombies. If you see gravel, stand on torches to avoid suffocation in case gravel falls. Make sure to put torches on spawners in dungeons, then finish off the mobs before looting those chests. Mark your way through the caves with torches or blocks so you don't get lost on your way out. You're gonna thank me for this advice when it saves your life! (Or will you? Be more grateful!๐Ÿ™ƒ)

3.Enough is enough
Don't get too greedy for ores and keep on mining. When you run out of resources, your death wish is gonna get fulfilled. Make sure to go up to the surface occasionally to refill up on resources like torches, food, tools and weapons. Even if you mined a bunch of valuables, it isn't gonna do you well if you lose all of them to either starvation or mob attacks. If you really want to mine for a long time, bring resources to last you days and for every certain amount of valuables you get, make a chest and store them in it. Just make sure to mark the coordinates and hide them deep enough so creeper explosions can't reach them. However, this method is not safe if you're in multiplayer as enemies may find it.

There isn't a lot I can do for you, so you have to rely on your instincts and courage to get those hard-earned diamonds!
