The Booty of the Lost City
Chapter One:
Trenteh felt the cool shiver down his spine as he went to pick up the newspaper. It was cold to the touch, and looked as if it had outlived its days. He heard it crackle as he turned it over, almost reverently. It read as follows:
o LOLLIES BURIED IN CITY OF AERODRIUM!!o
Trenteh had always been a dark and mysterious scarecrow. Away from the other children, he preferred dangerous and quieter places. He especially looked for adventures, as nothing could keep him from venturing into one. Trenteh took out his Halloween edition map. It was incredibly soothing to his hands compared to the newspaper. He folded up the old, age stained paper and caught a train to the mysterious city.
Chapter Two:
o Tonight,o he thought to himself, o I shall bring back the most candy the Trick or Treaters have ever seen!o
Trenteh arrived an hour later. The warm wind blew through him, filling his nose with exotic and old smells. He stood there on an emerald green hill, gazing over the city. It was weather-worn and abandoned. As he walked through, he could hear the ghostly cries of the long forgotten villagers. He felt the raw, exposed doors of the houses he walked by. The city filled him with a sadness that he could only suffer through. He took out the newspaper, to see if it had any hints to where this booty might be, but it was ripped upon the corner, the place the date was usually kept.
Trenteh began searching for this treasure. As he was walking through the thick vines that had grown on the crumbling trees, he noticed something waver in the distance. The light sparkle glowed upon his eyes, but as he crept closer he felt drowsy. As soon as he stood in front of it, he knew something wasno t right. The stale air was polluted by an unnatural smell, and he knew that smell meant danger. He started to run back, but slipped on a shard of glass. His vision went dark, and he could only see what was directly in front of him, which appeared to be a smashed glass bottle, with leaking contents.
Chapter Three:
Trenteh wandered around randomly, drunk with dizziness. He was lost already in the huge city, not being able to find any landmarks. Out the unfamiliar blue (Darkness for Trenteh) came a high pitched screech. A dark, cloaked figure glided out to him, and just as Trenteho s drunkenness was wearing off, he caught glimpse of her. She was one of the legendary Cannibal Witches, founders of darkness, practisers of Dark Magic and Potions. Her evil lust for chaos burned through her deep green eyes, so that even her black robes and hat seemed like a fluffy creeper. Trenteh ducked as three more potions went hurling at him. He sprinted in a random direction, running like his life depended on it (Which it did). Time seemed to slow down as Trenteh twisted his head to see a o Potion of Deatho come flying at him.
Chapter Four:
It happened so quickly that Trenteh only envisioned a blur of action. The metallic sheen of the werewolf smashed him out of the way, pinning the witch down with its fatal, icy claws. Trenteh could hear the tearing splosh of decapitation, even in his battered state. The Werewolf upon killing the gruesome witch approached a wary Trenteh.
o Avast ye Scarecrow,o it howled in the quickly rising sun, o I am Zarkarus, Protector of the city Aerodrium!o
At that his burning red eye penetrated through Trenteho s pumpkin head, gouging out his secrets.
o For eons I have kept this village safe from the hearts of evil. Until that monstrosity trespassed. Gah, those villagers lost all faith and fledo ¦into the depths of a ghost ship. But now, I have rid of this witch!o With that, it bounded into the fog beyond.
Chapter Five:
Trenteh exited the town of the Wolf. On his way out, he glimpsed an old, tattered newspaper. It was smaller than his original one, but was ripped. He picked it up, reverently, and saw it fitted perfectly. Upon reading it, he read:
o Protector of village (Robo-Werewolf) is DEAD!o o ¦But the date dated back fifteen years agoo ¦
