The End of Time


The two opened up the door and stepped inside. As they closed the door, it faded out of existence. They shared a nervous look and continued to walk in deeper. On the ground, they each picked up a sword from a pile of skeletons. An aura of bright light shone from behind a door.


“Do we go in?” asked Jake


Steve replied with, “We don’t have much choice, huh?”


They opened the door and were nearly blinded for a moment until their eyes adjusted. In the center of the room there was what looked like a portal. Now, they wouldn’t have entered it if they had the chance, but as they walked closer, a strange force pulled them into it.


They flashed in and out of worlds. They saw a man cutting strange objects with a hot knife. They saw a group of people running around with little blocks of silver and talking to them. They also saw a lot of people sitting inside a room watching people on a stage dance around while singing strange songs.


Finally they were back in their own timeline, but something was different. The temple, nay, the entire mountain began shaking violently. The ground burst open and 3 giant monsters climbed out, each one was one of the Gods of Chaos. One was a tall man with four arms, a familiar god they had battled with before, the God of Beasts. Next came another familiar face. A tall, green, one-eyed monster, The Genian Beast. Finally, there was a new God, at least three times taller than the other two, that was known as the God of Extinction.


They broke through where the door used to be, back onto the mountain. The tall one yelled out something in a strange language. The sky turned red and meteors rained from the sky. The cities below were being destroyed, and you could hear the screaming from atop the mountain.


“I know how we an get out of here!” Yelled Steve.


They each took off their arm-guards and attached them to their legs, using them know as a slippery surface to slide down the mountain, dodging rocks and trees on their way down.


They got to the bottom and ran to the Cythia and got out of there as fast as they could. Luckily the ship was light and maneuverable, but not enough to avoid every meteor. They were struck right above the capital, Haraan. They crashed into a random home, though that didn’t matter at this point, since just about everything else had been destroyed.


“Steve and Jake! Nice to see some familiar faces!” Said a familiar voice


They looked over and saw Chato. They had to look twice to realize that he was beckoning them over. At this point they didn’t have much of a chance of living anyways.


“How is it that you are alive?” Asked Steve


“Well, magic is pretty nice isn’t it?” He replied


They couldn’t argue with that point.


“Are you here to kill us?” Jake asked


“Why of course not! I’m here to help you get out of this mess you’ve gotten yourself into. How’s about we-”


Chato was cut off by a meteor flying in and smashing right into him, blasting Steve and Jake back. Another portal opened up, but this time it was pulling houses off of the ground into it.


Steve and Jake exchanged one last look. Their eyes connected and they seemed to be sharing the same thoughts. They thought back to what started this whole thing, and how it all could have been avoided. They made their way towards each other and grabbed a hold of one another, and they never let go until they were sucked into the empty void.


The only thing they could hear now was their own heartbeats. Nothing else was around, and the two were separated. That was it. Everything ended, and nothing was left to do but die.


Lost in time, (quite literally) was their story. On the outside, everything had been destroyed. Nothing was left but the immortal plane of the gods. Inside their minds, Steve and Jake were trying to push out thoughts of what happened to one another, but that was all they ever could think about until death.
