What is a golden age?Welcome gamers I have tended to notice a quiet a big pattern among many big gaming series and platform. A period of immense popularity I have dubbed the Golden age.

What does the Golden age do?
I believe although the golden age may end it does confer a long line of interest in the game that has it. For example many of the nintendo series such as pokemon, zelda, mario, all of these are either as old as most gamers or even older without showing any sign of stopping soon.

How do we know something is in its golden age?
Many games will go through a golden age for many years or maybe it never stops. A few things I tend to look at in a game is how it updates. Skyrim and minecraft are similar here. They both have continual updates to fix bugs and the updates are free.

Another tell tale sign are conventions. Do people dress up as the main characters, or is it big enough to have a convention all to itself. Both Runescape and Minecraft have their own conventions every year, many attend just for that game.

Is Minecraft immortal or is it going to die?
Right now I believe strongly that Minecraft is indeed in the beginning or even the middle of a golden age of popularity. A few good notes is that some people have such popular works that they make a living from it. Money may be the root of all evil in some opinions but in the field of gaming it is a necessary evil to keep a game like Minecraft alive for decades. Where there is money people tend to flock around it, meaning more players, more content, and in return Minecraft stays alive.

My opinion is, yes Minecraft is immortal. It may be because of greed but does it make a difference if everyone is happy?
