I've seen many people on PMC try to make it big. And they've tried to do anything to achieve their dream. Timelapses, showcases, YouTube series, they've tried them all. But they don't work. And I've noticed that one thing, apparent in all of them, is preventing them from making it big. To quote John Steinbeck, "A writer must believe that what they are doing is the most important thing in the world. And he must hold to his illusion even when he knows it is not true." For example, a new modder makes a mod on.. let's say edible diamonds. If they post that mod on PMC thinking it's a crap mod that will probably get around 5 to 10 downloads in a year, they won't even get 3 downloads. It's all about how you feel about your mod. That modder thinking his mod sucks may write this in the description, "I made this mod like last week and it adds edible diamonds. know it's terrible and all, but whatever." and get 1 diamond (only because it's automatic). But if that exact modder posts that mod with they description, "Hey PMC! I made this great mod on edible diamonds and it took me a while. I'm really proud of it and I think it's pretty good! Diamond and Favourite if you like it!" and receive 10 diamonds. That first description bored people and made them automatically think it's a bad mod, but the second description excited people and made them think the mod was revolutionary in every sense of the word. It may have been a bad mod, but hey, they already downloaded it! So in conclusion, they key to anything really is hope. Hope and believing in yourself can get you to any place you want to be.
