The battle was bloody. The diversion by the pirates had set off all of the Snowmen's defences, leaving a hole in the garrison. The battalion of Blazes flew into Depo, destroying everything. There was no hope, everyone had to escape.
The Blazes had no mercy. They would shoot down any villager, SnowSoldier or human in their way. They wanted to kill everyone, only to get home.
"We have to get everyone out of here!" Yelled Evan to John. "There's no hope in fighting them!" They were both running towards the church, at the center of Depo. The Blazes were slowly moving on it, but the inevitable destruction of the town only left one choice:
Run, or die fighting. Evan wanted to live, to come back another time and retake Depo. Evan and john were trying to get everyone in the church, for there was a passage leading to the edge of the city and out into the forest.
"Soldiers, retreat into the church! Retreat!" Evan was yelling as loud as he could, but the roar of the battle for Depo was deafening. Fireballs roared over their heads, snowballs impaled the walls and fires roared uncontrollably through the weak wood structures.
Evan and John decided they had rounded up the most they can. They had no choice but to leave the rest to die. They went into the church. No time to spare. Evan pulled a lever on the right side and a piston opened up a small trapdoor that lead into and underground tunnel.
"Everyone in!" The villagers complied. One by one the children went in first, then the adults. The battle roared evermore closer, but not everyone was in.
"Time to defend the overworld," John said. "It's the best thing we can do."
"Your right, man. Let's finish this with a fight." They both went up the ladder to the top of the church, bows armed, armor strapped and minds set.
There was a circle of SnowSoldiers fending off the hoards off Blazes, quickly shrinking. The two humans knocked arrows and fired, taking down the hell-spawn one by one. The Blazes took a moment to realize what was happening, then started to fire at Evan and John. The fireballs hit the sides of the church, blasting apart cobble like it was cardboard.
"The villagers are in! We can get away!" John climbed down the ladder. Evan was reluctant, but as a fireball whirred past his head and struck the ladder, blowing a hole in the wall, Evan was forced to flee. As he jumped down the shaft of the ladder, a fireball struck a weak spot, sending the entire structure to it's knees. Evan only had inches to spare from being crushed. He fled into the tunnel.
Now the Blazes have what they want: Depo, and a large amount of obsidian below it, their key to home. They'll have to fight for it, but in time.
