A Swedish Miner, the brother of the creator of everything, Herobrine spent his days mining in the deep searching for diamonds. Soon, he was a world-famous miner. He was the first person ever to find diamonds, and caused a diamond rush in the Cubic Desert in the year 1996. One day, he made an announcement and a decision, that would change his life.

"Greetings, Minecraftians," Herobrine spoke into a microphone over a large audience. "I have made a decision today, and it is one of my goals. As you know, I was the first person to find a new mysterious ore- diamond. But now, I believe there is another block that has not been discovered yet. I have done the science, and when flowing water hits still lava, it may create a new block, named Obsidian." This drew many gasps from the audience. "This block, I believe, will be very strong, and the ancient Blockatharls believed that it could open up a new dimension. So I will travel down there, and find this block!" The audience burst into applause, and Herobrine got dressed into diamond armour and took diamond tools with him down into the mine.

After two years, Herobrine had not come back up yet. Notch sent a search party down there to look for him, but the search party never returned. Notch himself went down to look and found a group of dead bodies, strewn across obsidian. He saw his brother, who was lying down, dead. Notch did a quick investigation and found that an evil source had driven Herobrine insane, and then Herobrine killed himself.

Three years later, it was the year 2002. Down under the depths of the stone and ores, Herobrine awoke. How was he alive? He had died, he could remember the intense pain! He was locked in a chamber of Obsidian, and he could hear cold, raspy voices.

"Lord Herobrine," the voices said. "You have returned."

"Lord?" Herobrine muttered.

"Yes, Lord Herobrine," the voices said. "Are you ready to return to the surface now?"

"Hey, I remember your voice..." Herobrine struggled with the name. "Um... hey! You were the ones who killed me! You were the ones who drove me insane with your voices and-"

"I think you just need more persuading, sir," the voice suggested.

Herobrine exploded with agony. It felt if as if he was being twisted inside out, as if all the happiness was being sucked out of him, like he felt just before he died. Then everything went black. When he woke up, he could not remember a thing. All he knew was that he was Lord Herobrine. And that he had to kill Steve.
