As far as I know, medieval is the most popular type of build in Minecraft, and also my favourite. So I decided to make a tutorial blog about it to give new Minecrafters, and even not so new, some help with their builds.

TOP TIP: Uploading boring builds with no detail wono t get you many views on PMC, unless youo ve advertised it exceptionally well, but even then, it wono t receive many diamonds. Really work hard on your builds, think about what youo re going to build and then build it.

Section 1: practice and tips

1. Make one superflat world (tunnellero s dream is best because you can dig down), only for being creative in, so build all your ideas and inspirations in that world, DO NOT make two, it gets too annoying when there are multiple maps made for the same thing.

1. 2. Find your style, be it really unexpected designs, or really detailed builds. Check out Novvo s building bundle for help with really unexpected shapes on builds. Check out JamziboyMinecraft and Madnes64 on YouTube for very helpful tutorials (aka TUTs).

2. 3. Colours look really nice in the medieval building style, although most people use dull, regular blocks like stone, planks, white wool, and so on, colours can make a huge change to your build, but it would be hard to put colour into an already finished medieval build, ito s still worth it, especially the inside, think of grand manors, you see lots of tapestries in there! Google some images. But, once again, check out Jamziboy and Madnes64 to see what you can do with the more regular dull-coloured blocks.

3. 4. o Size does mattero ! o Building small is easy, but not always that great, build big, remember, if you want to add detail ito s easiest on a large building, always think of the size of the blocks and what you are building. Small can be good, even amazing too, dono t be afraid to use your own style, maybe add small and big together. Dono t always be too realistic with proportions, again, check out Novvo s building bundle for cool inspirations!

Section 2: What to do when building

1. The first thing you need to do in any build is make the frame and foundations, because that gives you a good idea of what youo re building, and also makes it easy to make quick shape changes to your house or whatever. Dono t put the walls and windows in until youo re satisfied with frame shape and layout.

2. When building a medieval style house, remember to use not only strait lines as usual, use curves and diagonal lines, as I said before. Remember the features of medieval houses, pointy rooves, lots of beams, sturdy frames, quite a lot of oak too. If youo re making a cool, colourful house, I suggest a texture like Jolicraft, Greatwood, Great Summerfieldo s, there are loads of cool textures. o check out GazamoNetworko s Sqorcko s Shorts, ito s called basic roofing or something.

2. If youo ve ever been to a medieval house, manor, or castle, you would know how the people of the Middle Ages decorated their grand halls; long tapestries hung in front of huge panelled walls, great oak tables and chairs, big, carved statues and coats of arms and all that in the main rooms. The poorer persono s house would probably feel a little cramped and cluttered in the bedrooms and small rooms, but still quite large downstairs dining room, and a big kitchen is quite common, especially in castles, if you go to Hampton Court Palace (Henry VIIIo s grand palace in England), any castle would do, as long as ito s not a ruin, And take a tour you will see a lot of cool things, and the kitchen is huge, the ceiling is very high above your head and ito s mostly stone and again, oak tables and stuff.

2. The thing I find most helpful is watching tutorials from the professionals, like Jamziboy and Madnes64, the best tutorial is when the guy building starts from scratch, like Jamziboy and Madnes64, because you can see how they build the foundations and all that.

People to check out: JamziboyMinecraft, Madnes64, Novv, VoV, and loads of others.

Dono t forget to Diamond if this helped, Favourite if you need this in the future, and subscribe to see my upcoming Medieval building bundle. J
