This is extremely useful for adventure map makeing! Most of my maps include this feature too! Here is the command:

/give @p <item ID> <quantity> <damage> {Unbreakable:1}

Example:

/give @p minecraft:iron_pickaxe 1 0 {Unbreakable:1}

This will give me an unbreakable Iron pickaxe!
