**NOTE: Recently the first UNSTABLE and UNSUPPORTED build of CraftBukkit (Bukkit) has been released by its developers. I have a tutorial here that will tell you how you can update to a stable version of the unstable Bukkit 1.7.2. Please note if you have any problems, that it does state here you may experience some. Also some plugins may or may not work that have/haven't before. This is because of the new update and I'm positive it'll be fixed soon. This tutorial is mainly structured for hosted servers, but I've tried my best to include how to upgrade a server hosted on your PC. Please also note this is NOT a tutorial on how to create a 1.7.2 Bukkit server.
>>--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<<

>>--Before updating:--l>

-1- Make sure your server is on Bukkit 1.6.4 Recommended Build

-2- Download and install Bukkit StructureSaver utility plugin

-3- Place the JAR plugin above in your servers 'plugins' directory/folder.

-4- Restart your Minecraft Server.

-5- Run the following command: /save-structures (or type save-structures in your console.)

**NOTE: Neglecting to address this ahead of time will result in structures from old worlds no longer being recognized as valid structures come 1.7.x. (More info on this here.)

-6- Stop your Minecraft Server.
-7-
Remove structuresaver-1.2.jar plugin from your plugins directory. (The plugin we installed.)
-8-
Next you can download the Official Bukkit 1.7.x: http://dl.bukkit.org/downloads/craftbukkit/
  • Optional: Rename your JAR to be compatible with custom .jar hosting. (Some hosts require you to rename your .JAR to 'custom.jar' in order to be used and uploaded.
-9- Place it in your Server's MAIN folder. (Contains your servers properties, 'plugins', etc.)
  • Optional: Using FTP, need help with FTP file access? Click here.

-10- Start your server. DONE!

>>--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<<

If you are hosting your Minecraft Server from your computer (your own) the tutorial is done for you, the next bit is for people using a host (Like mcproh, mcpowerh, mchosting.ca, etc.)...

>>--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<<

-11- Follow the instructions from your server in order to upload a custom.jar, usually all you need to do is drag and drop the .JAR into your servers main folder using FTP or Multicraft, if you are unsure about FTP you can find out more using my tutorial here.

-12- After installing the .JAR, delete your previous one before upgrading (like bukkit1.6.x.jar, spigot.jar). If your Server host requires you to enable your custom JAR file, then do so.

Do not post Bukkit 1.7.x help requests here, I'm not able to help you. Also refer to this thread about 1.7.x Bukkit after you experience an error (if you do). >Clicky click<

Thank you, and please remember to rate this post if it helped you out. I wish you all luck with your servers and I hope you enjoy the new build. ~
