You hear cave music (CREEPY) and know its close. The hissing of spiders Creepers seem just below your feet... BAM you fall 10 blocks into a pit of mobs... Should it be this scary?
Personally, I think that's why it should be here. There needs to be at least some sense of fear in a game to make it more exciting. There is a price of getting precious ores in the dark! Even on peaceful, those bats come out of nowhere with that creepy music along too! Makes the game interesting and challenging. Yet there is also the beautiful landscape to go along and counter the game... Making it NOT a horror game, but Minecraft instead.
