Before you mods click that remove button I'm just gonna say this is only one reason, not multiple, so don't worry.

So Minecraft is for 7-8 year olds, they come back from school, do their homework and then they have the rest of the day to themselfs, they go on Minecraft and spend all that time creating something, working hard for all that time that they have, so they come back and find that all of that hard work is gone, and keep in mind that these are little kids, they will cry if their hard work is destroyed, and then they find out it was just a stupid teen troll ruining hours and hours of work, even if it's a bad looking building, it's still their work that they spent all of their free time on doing, is it funny to see a little 7 or 8 year old cry over this? It's fine on a faction server or a grief allowed server in general, but doing it on a creative or none grief survival server is just cruel, they've worked so hard on it and all of that hard work is gone... it is fine if you roll it back, but when you just leave them there to be so sad over their hours of work is just cold hearted, of course it's just a game, but they're only like 7 or 8, they don't understand that yet.

So let's say a 20 year old comes back from work, he spends his free time caring for his family (if he has one) and building on Minecraft, when he comes back and see's it destroyed, he may not cry but he will be very upset.

And yes, if it is something very innapropriate like certain human parts then it is fine to destroy, as they are little spoilt brats who think everything is alright to do because there will be no punishments for what they do, you have to teach them a lesson.

Sorry for the short blog, don't have that much time right now and I wanted to quickly write ones.

Once my 3yr old bro was building a house. He opened it up to the world and the next day.. All that was left was a single wood block floating in the sky and on the ground there was a sign and it said: haha u dont understand. Seriously, that's what it said. He started swearing. A 3yr old swearing!

As someone who is 3 months from 20, I feel that my reaction to griefing has less to do with my age and ability to understand "it's just a game" and has much more to do with "I spent hours doing that and it was perfect and why does humanity have to do this to other human beings?". As an artist, things I design and put my creativity into are very much something I become emotionally attatched to.

Also, I'm not sure if you meant to stereotype these different ages or not, but this blog comes across as "Minecraft is for children and all children are immature".

I was stereotyping the different ages as all of the kids I've met on Minecraft are very immature, I mean like 7 to 12 year olds.

And all of the like 15 to 20 year olds I've met havn't really cared a lot about arguments, but I do meet the occasional mature 7 year old and 20 year olds who still laugh at fart jokes (am I still the only one who laughs at them at the age of 13?)

I agree. I feel like this blog could've actually touched on more reasons--like factions, where destroying an enemy base (griefing) is part of the game. Or how people can grief by accident because they didn't read the rules and
don't realize that they aren't allowed to just take down any abandoned build they see. Or people who break into a house just to see what it looks like, but forget to put a block back. Or people who just want to watch the world burn.

Not to mention, griefing isn't as much of an issue on servers with proper plugins/staff.

Most of the players I've seen, you can't tell their age from their maturity. It's easy to think "what a ten year old" to someone simply because he or she cannot spell right or gets upset easy. I've seen children who behaved better than adults and vice versa. I think anonymity features into people trolling/abusing/griefing more than one's age. If people think they can get away with something, they will do it--both kids and adults.

I guess you bring up some logical points. You portray exactly why griefing is bad and not much on why griefing is good.

Griefing is the act of destroying something for personal gain, whether that's the blocks or to provoke a reaction. I'm not sure taking down structures of human parts would be regarded as griefing -- 'less the server allows such things and the person has made said part into a household.

A nice and short blog, I'll give ya a diamond, haha.
