Amplified Infection introduces a new debuff (Reusing the Bad Luck debuff) called Infection, Zombies, Drowned, Husks, Zombified Piglins and Zombie Villagers have a chance to inflect this debuff when they attack you, The odds of contracting Infection is reduced by Defense, and using a shield vastly reduces the chance of Infection, Infection has 5 levels, and Infection can be reduced by eating golden apples, or completely cured by eating an enchanted golden apple, Dying spawns a zombie that is buffed based on your Infection Level, carrying your entire inventory, The zombie uses your armor, and has whatever you were holding at the time of death, Killing the zombie drops you your inventory back.
All zombies are persistent. regardless of source

Tiers of Infection
1. Slightly reduced Maximum Health and Movement speed.
2. Even more reduced Maximum Health and Movement speed, and reduces your Attack Damage by 1.
3. Considerably reduced Maximum Health and Movement speed, and reduces your Attack Damage by 1, You also get the Mining Fatigue debuff.
4. Vastly reduced Maximum Health and Movement speed, and reduces your Attack Damage by 2, You also get the Mining Fatigue debuff. As a warning you also get the Darkness Debuff.
5. Instant death.


Also adds a new structure: The Laboratories
This is a sprawling complex that is pseudo-randomly generated upon creation, It generates a total of 100 rooms and corridor segments that is the original source of the Infection. Inside you will find Nanites, which can be used to improve yourself, as well as a host of powerful zombies.



Nanites can be applied with the Nanite Activity Numeral Object Serializer (Yes N.A.N.O.S), found deep inside the Laboratories
(function infected:give_nanites places a chest with all of the Nanites and N.A.N.O.S)

Nanites

1. Armor: Grants Resistance I and Fire Resistance.

2. Barrier: Grants Absorption I, reducing all incoming damage by 4.
3. Immuno: Suppresses (but does not remove) the effects of Infection, Weakness and Slowness, Removes Poison and Wither.
4. Leaping: Grants Jump boost II and slightly increases movement speed.
5. Lifeforce: Multiplies your Max Health by 1.5.
6. Regen: Every second grants Instant Health I.
7. Sight: Removes Darkness (Except from Infection) and Blindness, Grants Night Vision I.
8. Strength: Multiplies your Attack Damage by 1.5, This multiples the Strength buff and weapons.
9. Swiftness: Multiplies your Movement Speed by 1.75.

And Unstable, which instantly applies 5 levels of Infection to you.

Dying does not remove nanites from you (Excluding Unstable, which are lost forever).

I'm impressed at how this is the first dedicated 'zombie infection' mod I've seen. But, then again, I was never actively looking for one I suppose.

Well as you can see, this was for a map jam, Theme: Infected. I'm sure that there is more packs somewhere that have to do with zombie infection. but tbh, that sort of feature generally feels better in a map.
