Ever get bored of Minecraft's vanilla world generation?

Ever get decision paralysis on when or where to stop exploring?
Ever get annoyed when your minimap mod always shows there's undiscovered land just beyond what you've seen?

    Then Continental is for you!

I have always taken issue with the fact that Minecraft's vanilla world generation is roughly inverse of what Earth's is: a TON of land with "oceans" that are more like big lakes. What if most of the land was grouped into large continents that are far apart from each other?

I created this datapack as an alternative to Starmute's Continents mod/datapack, which turns the whole world into an archipelago with continents scattered throughout. My datapack has the continents well outside any reasonable render distance from each other, and islands are weighted to only be placed far away from continents as well.

    Hope you enjoy!

I've always wanted a more continental world generation, but there is one big problem with this datapack. I have yet to find land in any world that is more than a few square chunks of snow and ice. 10 or so of the worlds I generated spawn me within mining fatigue range of guardians, and of the 32 I made, only two had visible land of any kind. Kinda sucks to be plopped into an ocean with no useful resources. Always turn on bonus chests, because you're SOL without starting materials for a boat.

Man, I’ve been looking for a mod or data pack that does exactly this for months! It always bothered me that oceans in Minecraft are basically just big lakes; even with other data packs like Continentals, the oceans still felt small. But yours? The oceans are perfect. To make it even better, I’d suggest distributing the biomes in a more organized way and making them more vast! I recommend checking out the Eldor data pack for interesting continent shapes—anyway, great work!
