Death Stranding Datapack

A minecraft datapack that acts as an alternative to the hardcore gamemode. When you die, you explode and destroy all your hard work near you. You will respawn in a random location in the nether with a pickaxe, where you would need to find yourself a way out of nether. In the late game this is not always a big problem, but early game you would need to find yourself a nether fortress and hopfully find 10 obsidian to create a new portal.

This is meant for servers, to have a hardcore experience where players dont need to be banned from the server.

Features:

  • Explode on death
  • Respawn in a random location in the nether
  • Respawn with wooden pickaxe
  • Respawn with fire resistance for one minute

Install Guide:

Extract "Death Stranding 0.9" zip file into
%appdata%\Roaming\.minecraft\saves\WORLDNAME\datapack

You explode again, and respawn again somewhere else in the nether with a new wooden pickaxe and fire resistance.

Also, if i ever uppdate this again; i will in the 1.16+ version i remove the starting wooden pickaxe because of the introduction of the nether wood types and blackstone.

Nether Fortress tactic:
  1. Find obsidian in a nether fortress
  2. Make a ghast shoot your portal or make a fire charge
Late game:
  1. Find a portal that you already created
Hard tactic:
  1. Die multiple times (you spawn with a obsidian under you)
  2. keep track of cordinates
  3. make a diamond pickaxe from looting nether fortress
  4. travel around and pick upp obsidian from old deaths
  5. make a portal
Multiplayer tactic:
  1. wait for another player to enter nether using a portal
  2. somehow find it
